Kesler with a beautiful goal after two touch passes from the twins.

LA is getting outplayed at home. Vancouver has three lines that make life just miserable off the forecheck.

I wonder how desperate LA gets if they lose tonight. Would make it 6 in a row.

Crosby & Malkin now with an impressive 107 points combined this season
That is one more point than the following 6 players - who are supposedly paid to provide offense on the NYR squad (also taking up over 80% of the cap space on the fwd roster) have put up this year:
  • Richards 28
  • Stepan 26
  • Brassard 23
  • Nash 16
  • Callahan 14
  • Boyle 9

Here is the main reason why we suck and the Penguins do not

Not that I disagree with the premise of your post, (our stars sucking) but one of these is not like the others.

Richards and Nash make a combined 2.9M less than those two and this year are only earning 2.7M less in actual salary. In fact, Malkin's actual salary is .3M lower than Nash's this year.

Well unfortunately the Rangers didn't suck as much as the Pens did to have those players fall into their lap..

I don't think anyone here would give two ***** if the Rangers were an actual basement-dwelling team instead of a bubble PO team for a few years to get a generational talent leading to a Cup win. What's unfortunate is having the management the Rangers have had for ~15 years.

I really do want them to straight up suck for a year, and see everyone here go totally insane

I would love to see them do what Buffalo is doing. People here would lose their mind if the team was trying to be competitive but was bottom three in the league. It's very different when you know you're management has a plan to sell your valuable assets, go with stop gaps and youth, accumulate high end picks and young talent and restyle the entire roster. Everyone would lose it if we were a last place team for reasons other than doing those things. I don't see Buffalo fans jumping off bridges. They know their team is rebuilding.

I think this place would actually be peaceful and more informative if the team was in last. Until the offseason when everyone comes back to bug out. People would be all batty at first, but as reality sets in...

I think if management sent the message to the fan base prior to the season, by trading pending FAs, only resigning key core players, and moving up in the draft, then it wouldn't not be the big meltdown people would imagine.

It's only such a big deal when they suck because no one ever goes in to a season around here expecting them to be less than at least a 5-8 seed team. That's been the plan for as long as Sather has been here. The '11 - '12 season gave people a false sense of what this team ultimately was going to be in future seasons. So now when they are .500 half-way through the season, the world is ending.

Should have just "this'd" this post.

It's not a shock when it's expected.

What in the ****...

Let's talk about that Bryan Bickell contract. Wow does it look bad right about now.

You'd hear a lot more complaints about it if the Hawks weren't winning so much.

The Ducks just refuse to lose at home. Tie it with a minute and a half left, Perry scores with half a second remaining in overtime. 11 straight wins for Jonas Hiller.

This team will take the top spot from Chicago, in my opinion.
