Of course there are no guarantees but the biggest reason that we lost to the Devils was that we ran out of gas from being stuck in drawn out low scoring series with the Sens and Caps. Giroux's offense might have helped us get through those series more easily.

In a vacuum yes, but the chances of everything happening exactly the way they did after they would have drafted him are Infinitesimally small. In fact, it's an absolute certainty that the course of events would have been different. You could say that about any player. How about "if the ping pong balls bounced the right way and we drafted crosby in 05"? We probably would have won it if we had him on the team as well, but that only happens in a Vacuum. We draft Crosby and the whole thing changes even FURTHER.

Who knows if Giroux would have even developed in the Rangers system. Maybe they would have traded him. Or maybe they win the cup in 08. Who knows. The only thing that is certain is that you can't look at these things in a vacuum. Our failure to reach the finals/win the cup in '12 was not due to our not drafting of Giroux.

Devils GM Lou Lamoriello said Ryane Clowe took an elbow to the head Sunday in Winnipeg and had a headache afterward. It's gone now.

Because of Clowe's head injury history, Devils are playing it safe. Saw doctors. Going IR retroactive to Sunday. Miss next 2 games.

Concussion issues

Clowe contract looking great Lou. Sucks to hear though, I still love the guy as a player.

They aren't that good of a team, so it's not that hard to believe IMO.

Plus Giroux, Simmonds, Read, Couturier, and Voracek have a combined zero goals. You aren't going to win like that.

That's insane. And I thought the Rangers' forwards were off to a rough start.

Paul Holmgren must be feeling the heat right about now because if Berube can't get them to start winning some games...

QFT... How many concussions he have last season. At least 3 possibly 4?? I know he had 2 as a Ranger.

Love his style and glad he is getting over paid on the devils dime and not ours.

I told you in my draft blog Sather said Clowe was damaged .. He is in trouble career wise this is number 4

Thought this was kind of hilarious. Allison Robicelli of Robecelli's Bakery in Brooklyn refused to be a vendor at Barclay's Center because she's a Rangers fan:

"I'm a big Knicks and a huge Rangers fan. Can we talk very seriously here. In 2015, when the Islanders move to Brooklyn, I'm moving to Staten Island because I am not living in the same borough as them. When the request came [to vend food] at the Barclays Center, I didn't put in. I'm not cooking for the ****ing Islanders. This is probably not the smartest business decision."

Shove people around? if you have been watching, hes been manhandled all game (by Ott, specifically) and hasnt been getting any calls. In a scrum Ott had his head pushed toward the ice and his teammates came to his rescue (protecting the star player)....no different from Crosby getting protection, etc...

Except Tavares was throwin dirty plays around the entire game and got no looks. You should pay attention to the game more

Tavares was playing like a punk all night. When he held Ott up after that cheap board play Ott retaliated and then Tavares scurried away and hid behind other players.

Going back to last season, the Devils have won 11 of the last 42 games (.261 winning pct) including losing streaks of 7 games, 10 games and 6 games.

Calling a player "overrated" doesn't mean he's bad. I'd take G on this team in a heartbeat. But he's not a generational talent like everybody pimps him out to be. He's just a good PPG center. Not on the tiers of Stammer, Malkin, Crosby, etc.

I 100% agree with you. I love Giroux and I'd love him on the Rangers. That being said, there are some people who think he's a top 5 forward and I don't see that. I see people saying that last year was a down year... maybe the year before was a career year. He's also not good defensively but I always see people calling him a good 2-way player. Great player, just not nearly as good as some people say he is.

I don't see them finishing last, or even in bottom 5 but boy I would ****ing laugh if they were to forfeit #1 overall pick.

Ugh. My fantasy team is getting absolutely pummeled with injuries. My left-wing is completely shot with Nash, Hartnell and Kane out. :help:

I have Nash, Neal, Kane, Boyle and Lehtonen on multiple teams each, all but 1 of 6 only has one IR slot. Injuries are brutal this year.

We'll probably never know because I don't think they would even participate in the draft lottery if their pick is forfeited.

Does the lottery affect the later rounds as well? Because then they'll definitely be in it.

I could honestly see the Devils being last in the Metro. Every team is better than them, or at LEAST has some kind of identity. Losing Parise and Kovy were the worst things that could happen to PDB's system, which requires basically every forward to play a two-way game. Now his roster are a bunch of offensive misfits with huge faults, and no clear direction or hope for the team. No real tradeable assets, a really ****** prospect pool, and a team that isn't bad enough for a lottery pick. Enjoy your stay in hell Devils :)

The Devil's won't be in the lottery. Their pick is forfeited. The pick doesn't exist.
