7 goals for DeBrincat already.

It’s wonderful when a good player wants to go home in their prime. So glad it happened in the division. I feel great about it. Thanks for asking.

Although let’s not discount our own big addition has three goals already to. They all went into his own net…but hey…he got a piece of them.

Make that 8 goals

Isn’t Detroit scoring at like 2g above their expected goal total right now? They’ve got some suspect underlyings atm. Oh well, the points count.
Yea very similar to last year at this time. I remember somebody posted the MoneyPuck playoff odds and they had the Sabres & Sens way ahead of the Wings, despite the worse record. Wings fans were losing their mind saying that's why analytics don't mean anything, but at the end of the season both the Sens & Sabres finished ahead of them.

Even for this game Flames had 2.45xG & Wings had 2.33xG.

I'm more Bullish on the Wings and Sens chances than most of this board. Their offense will obviously cool down quite a bit. I just like the mix of veterans and youth in the top 9 and, while I didn't like their defensive additions, it was adding depth, which they needed. I'm curious to see how our D holds up vs the Sens on Tuesday, we haven't really faced a good speedy team yet, I think Ottawa's offense is going to give us fits.

Apparently despite our bad start, our xG is better.
Sounds a lot like last year when we were close in the standings. We'll likely blow by them if the top-6 starts heating up.

Ottawa will be tougher to surpass, imo. We're neck and neck with them.

Things aren't going to get an easier for us...7 out of the top 10 scorers in the league are in our division.

I always understood the decision on the jerseys, as it basically put a black mark on a player and the league whenever someone opted out. The tape thing was something else - to go from promoting "Hockey is for Everyone" to "Don't Say Gay" in the span of an offseason is just a terrible look. I always expect the NHL to make poor decisions overall, but this was lacked even a hint of rationality.

Officiating jobbing the Wings - clear thrown stick and then the Kraken break back to score and take a 3-1 lead. Wow.
I was just watching that. I don't know if the ref was able to see it through the players, but it feels wrong when both linesmen and the other ref have clear lines of sight on it and it's still ok. Still, such a blatant move to stop a clear shot on an out-of-position goalie.
