What would be the return in compensatory picks for a team to offer sheet Kaprizov with the type of deal he's looking for?

I don't believe he is eligible to sign one. If he were, anything over 10.2M AAV is four 1st round picks.

Thanks for the info.

I was starting to think why a team might not explore doing that. Although I know it isn't extremely common and kind of frowned upon by NHL GMs.

Beard Man goes to Florida. LOL
I read this as "breadman" and thought the Rangers had traded Panarin lol. Good, may Thornton finish his career in South Florida in anonymity (I do think the Panthers will be pretty good again this year, though).

Thornton's beard makes him look like he's about to move into a log cabin in the woods and start trapping animals.

"Who's that old man?"

"That's Grizzly Joe Thornton son, stay clear of his beard or you could get lost in there."

Really thought this year would be the one where Florida makes it out of the first round. I have now changed my stance. Joe Thornton is a f***ing loser.
He's probably due for another deep playoff run where the "will he finally get his cup" storyline overwhelms the playoffs only for him to fall short in the conference finals

What really perplexes me, is that teams keep doing this thing where they “need” a vet leader to help push through, and then sign a guy who’s never won anything lol.

With Coach Q at the helm, the Panthers are finally entering rare territory.

If they are going to photo shop a pic of him in a red jersey, why not grab a pic from like 10 years ago when he doesn't look half dead?

If memory serves me Perron was on fire to start the season with like 5 goals in the first 10 games and then Thorton knocks him out for the rest of the year with a dirty hit to the head.

So ya **** Thorton I'm glad he hasn't won s***.

As far as dirty hits go, the Thorton one registers pretty low on the scale and I've never understood the grudge blue fans have held against him for it.

Knocked out a young player for 13 months and almost derailed his career. You don't see why Blues fans would be upset about that?

Ranks low?

Jeez. Thornton knew what he was doing. Came right out of the box and lined him up. To me that makes it worse.

I was also upset at the time, but it was 11 years ago and it's basically the only hit like that Thornton has made in his career. There's a time when you just need to let things go.

It was a bad hit he shouldn't have made, but if we're talking dirty hits, there's no flying elbow, he doesn't leap into it, there's no charge. It's just a blindside hit the he should have opted to not take.
