I have to say, while I'm obviously disappointed in Hank not winning it, I do enjoy seeing the goaltender that the Flyers traded away for two picks going on to win the Vezina the very next season. Homer is an idiot. I knew it was a bad deal at the time. It's as if they thought a young goaltender couldn't improve. He's even more impatient than ol' Glenny.

Aside from Huberdeau winning Calder, all the awards this year were ********.

Bergeron was better defensively than Toews.
Suter is a better DEFENSEman than Subban and wasn't a PP specialist.
Bob is a one-year wonder
Ovechkin had a good quarter of a real season while Tavares put the islanders on his back and carried them to the playoffs, while playing in a much tougher division than the Southeast, which I'm pretty sure has 3 teams picking in the top 5 this year.
Paul MacLean was hands down the best coach-hard to screw that up.
Shero thought that Douglas Murray would solve the problems of defense.

Agreed with everything here. *'s for all because of the lockout :p:

I like Toews very much though so I'm happy for him.

Yeah. I wish Lundqvist would have won, but during most of the season, I didn't even think Lundqvist was that great.

I really did think he would win, though, since CBJ missed the playoffs. Who was the last Vezina winner to miss the playoffs?

I'm confused by the angst, Bob was clearly the lead for the Vezina this season. Yeah, Hank's been the most consistent goalie for a while now, but that's not what the award is meant to reflect. Why all the hate?

It's not hate just skepticism that he can keep up the level of play. He was never seen as a Vezina worthy goalie until a bizarre, shortened season in which his team didn't even make the playoffs.

First time in the "voting era" for the Vezina (1982 to present) that the Vezina winner was on a non-playoff team. Second time ever (Roy Worters, 1931) for the award as a whole. Given that the GMs really put a premium on winning, for Bobrovsky to get the win really speaks volumes about what the GMs thought of his play this year. Good for him. Historically important win (not that others aren't, but this one holds a little extra, IMO, given the circumstances)...

Stick tap to TDMM for the info.

anybody that cannot stand nbc's broadcast, like myself....I found a way to watch the cbc broadcast through their site. Setup a vpn connection on your computer here is the info you need to set it up http://www.freecanadavpn.com/ and then once connected go to http://www.cbc.ca and watch the game live. I am much happier with this broadcast than NBC's

Bobrovsky with a total of 110 voting points (17-8-1), Lundqvist with 55 (3-12-4) and Niemi third with 46 (6-4-4).

Unbelievable. I can understand Bobrovsky winning it, although it was only one year, but such a huge discrepancy between Bob and Hank.

Good comeback shift for the Bruins.

For how good Chicago has been, it's still 1-0, and the Bruins are arguably the most composed team in hockey. Chicago needs to finish their chances and bury them. If they let Boston hang around, it won't be good.
