Not really an achievement if you throw 10 mln a year at them.

Maybe not, but he do have one of the best player of this generation under contract for another eight years. ;)

If they got into seriously cap problem he could always trade him for... idk vey much.

However he doesn't deserve to be priced as the best GM.

Lol, oh my Mess... Good hockey player, not much of a TV personality

Saw a little buzz this morning that Seattle has offered Key Arena rent free for 3 years if the NHL wants to move the Coyotes there. Also, Elliot Friedman apparently had Bill Daly tell him after Wednesday's press conference that they'd know something on the Coyotes by today.

Key Arena is pretty terrible for hockey after they gutted it in early 90's to make it that way

Only way NHL should allow move to Seattle is if they have ironclad guarantee a new arena will happen

As of right now Seattle arena is still just a dream ,, not a certainty

They could use it as an interim arena while they have one more suitable for hockey built, perhaps?

Yes but isn't the arena deal on condition they get NBA team? If that is case then it wont be happening for a while (After watching Stern screw over Seattle again)

The Memorandum of Understanding with the city on the arena build can be modified to allow the NHL team there first, without the guarantee of an NBA team. That's according to the guy who wants to build it and is the other party in the MOU, Chris Hansen. It's really not a difficult process if Hansen is open to is and he is publicly so. If the NHL wants Seattle, an arena will get built.

Besides, the feeling out there is that expansion WILL be happening in the NBA and it WILL be to Seattle, likely for 15-16.

Award Winners are in:

Jack Adams Trophy - Paul MacLean (Ottawa Senators)
Frank J. Selke Trophy - Jonathan Toews (Chicago Blackhawks)
Lady Byng Trophy - Martin St. Louis
GM of the Year - Ray Shero
Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy - Josh Harding
Mark Messier Leadership Award - Daniel Alfredsson

Stepan 9th in Selke voting, BEHIND Callahan.

Shero GM of the year, ridiculous. He has failed to build a team around the top 2 forwards in the league.

agreed, don't know how he won that over bergevin for example, he rebuilt that team and got them into the playoffs after missing it the year before and they were the #3 seed (won their division).

No. 2 even. They won the division with the strong Bruins chasing them, finishing well ahead of Washington on the log (who were the no. 3 seed).

Shero has done nothing that warrants an award like this. He signs Crosby and Malkin to albatros contracts, but they were drafted before he got the job as GM.

And people seem to forget he gave Fleury 5m/y, the worst contract in the NHL

lol, my bad, I messed that one up. sorry.

Fleury's contract is bad, but not as bad as luongos or dipietros.

I don't see this at all

Many markets in NBA are struggling right now

The Bucks for instance have been struggling for years and are likely next target for Seattle or KC in pursuit of team

I'm basing my idea on what's been reported surrounding that situation since the Kings possibility fell away. Not just putting out theories.

When will the remaining awards be handed out? I know the Conn Smythe trophy will be at the end of the SC finals, but what about the Vezina trophy? Do we have to wait a whole 2 weeks for that?
