I'm still surprised they went for PLD over Hellebuyck, tbh. Even if it would've cost a bit more, seemed like a no-brainer with the Kings' center depth.

Yeah I get the appeal of PLD and I really like the King's roster, actually. But you can't have a guy starting that is a 31 year old journeyman who has spent a significant amount of that time in the AHL as opposed to the NHL. It would be like if the Penguins blew 5-6M on a shiny new 3C to appease the "WAHHH MUH THIRD LINE" people and signed Spicy Pork to start in net.
 
There really aren't enough goalies for even half the teams in the league to feel good about their starters. I didn't like the Jarry contract, but if Hellebuyck wasn't available there's a reasonable argument to be made that Jarry was the best option on the market.

Honestly, I will take the best outcome of the season is Crosby leading the Penguins to another playoff berth/run and the Capitals and Flyers at the very bottom of the division.

I’ll consider that a massive W.

Only 1.33 games in for Washington but holy hell do they look horrific. Like Steelers offense horrific.

Shows you our win against the Caps doesn’t mean much…I want to see us against the younger faster wings in their barn…does it go the way it went against Chicago or do we have something here?

I hope game 1 was more Pens trying to get used to a bunch of new players over say struggle that bad against young fast teams.

Keller-Cooley-Schmaltz is a heck of a line, man.

If Arizona can stop shooting themselves in the foot for a while, they might have a legit team some day sooner than later.

Me too…the Hawks are beating the Leafs tonight…maybe theyre a better young team than advertised
