Mrazek hasn't been much better, meanwhile Freddy Andersen is 1st in wins, 5th in GAA and 4th in sv%, though to be fair Campbell is tied for 7th in sv%.

A team with some strong offensive players and weak defence, sound familiar?

Laine 2 more goals tonight including the winner in OT against the Loser Leafs

Meanwhile, PLD continues to fade away into the sunset. Is he really all that, or does ScheifMe just make him look like a 1C? Add in Roslovic for all his warts being a better option than anything we've got in our bottom 6 and this trade makes me want to drive Chevy to the levee when the levee ain't dry.

Laine is as good as gone in Columbus, we’ll have to see what they get for him though. Roslovic didn’t want to be here. We overpaid for Dubois but if we get him locked up long-term then we made out alright. Still, liking your comment for the American Pie reference.

Laine was wanting way too much money and 20 point Roslovic wanted out. If we didn't have Dubois who's our center's right now? #1 Scheifele, #2 Copp ? That's horrible. More than anything we need a new coach and coaching staff then lets see if Dubois as you say, fades away into the sunset at 23 years old.

well we'd still have stastny this year, and then hopefully perfetti if he can actual center at the nhl level. @nobody imp0rtant point about roslovic still stands though. 8 goals/20 pts would be far away our best bottom-6er. regardless if he was going to sign or not, we did not acquire or insert a player to replace for this season (after Appleton got taken by Seattle)

Chevy absolutely had to do something with our defense and if we spread out our talent you could possibly have Wheeler on our 3rd line.

well our defense is still not good lol and i mean the team still could have gotten another scoring bottom-6er in the off-season, teams can address multiple holes/deficiencies. he acquired dillon+schmidt on July 26th and 27th, are you trying to say those 2 transactions took him the entire off-season? :dunno:

and there's nothing that prohibits him from getting serviceable bottom-6er during the season.

also don't disagree with the opportunity to spread talent. i've been a proponent of that all year although some on here still argue with me that lowry is some strong 3c. but the fact is the coaching staff (which falls under chevy) refuses to try it. injuries/covid did throw a wrench in things too.

Dubois is not done learning the NHL game yet. He has some maturing to do and I hope he remains a Jet.

Ever since the PLD trade I just haven't been able to wrap my head around why the Jets haven't constantly played with a really strong center group of Scheif-PLD-Stastny-Lowry when everyone's healthy. Lowry as a 4th line C would be awesome and I believe in the long run it's always better for the team if you can truly run four lines because it keeps everyone involved and in the game and spreads the load. You can have both your top2 lines play around 17-19min depending on special teams and still have time to spread and you can always play a line that's hot more.

IMO.......the reason is poor coaching.

X1000. It also means the other team can't line match against a complete scrub line. Then again, some teams have been occasionally matching vs our Schief-Wheels lines... So running 4 lines is just one factor that could help if the coach also gets more strategic buy-in from ALL players.

Could you imagine if all 4 lines skated all-out every shift? Somewhat like the Carolina game that I was at - the Canes were constantly attacking with intensity, line after line. I believe we have that capability too (if we were 100% healthy).
