It just doesn't feel right to be going on with business as usual, paying attention to hockey, with what is going on in the world. But I need a distraction and it isn't like there is anything I can do about world events.

This will be an interesting dynamic in some dressing rooms (if the issue at hand wasn't so very sad). The brotherhood of a dressing room needs to be united to compete with an "us against them" mentality. I expect the Russian players to say nothing at all, rather than attempt to justify the Russian political world view.
I also wonder how some fans are going to respond. I would personally boycott any team who puts a Russian player on the ice who condones the actions of Russia.

Yup the best course for any Russian player would be to keep their mouths shut but the reporters will dig and someone will say something they shouldn't.
Reporters should stay away from asking these questions. Yes, what’s going on is serious right now but who cares what a bunch hockey players have to say about it.

Team's PR will make it very clear to not attempt any political questions. Thank God Don Cherry isn't still on to go off about that, lol. Atleast his kids can edit that out on their podcast.
