If the Leafs lose to Buffalo this afternoon the migration might have to start all over again

Chris Cuthbert is truly impressive. I didn’t think it was possible for someone to be more of a homer than Jim Hughson, but Cuthbert has somehow done it. One of the more remarkable achievements of his broadcasting career, for sure.

Yup the slurping usually at 10 is at 11 today with both CC and Simpson but SN National games involving the Leafs are treated as regional broadcasts.

Amazing how Sportsnet and the NHL's crappy intermission show can make me double check to see whether Im watching a CFL game or not

Leafs in serious trouble. Goaltending continues to be an embarrassment, their “top 10 defence” has gone on a sabbatical and Matthews can’t handle the physical play that ramps up in the playoffs.

I wonder if they’d give a 1st for Copp? Should be middle-of-the-round when the Leafs get bounced in round 1 again.

What about trading Comrie to them for a first...?

Knights lose again to a non-playoff team like the CBJ. Playoffs might slip away unless they right the ship soon. 2 goal game for Krebs. Trade not looking so hot for VGK.

And that trade looks really bad for them so far. Tuch is playing lights out, producing more than Eichel. Tuch is going to be Sabres version of prime-Wheeler for the next 10 years and probably their next captain. Krebs is coming along nicely at .5 PPG in his rookie year and that is not even counting the 1st and the 2nd that Vegas gave up and the ~4 million less cap hit

I think McKrimmon and McPhee outsmarted themselves on this one. You love to see it.

Eichel will likely round back into a ppg number 1 center which they don't have. Having said that they have gutted their system and will have to gut their depth to be compliant next year. Heck they may need to gut their depth before next week if they feel they need to bring Stone back just to help them make it into the playoffs.

With most of their core making big money in their 30's they have all of a sudden got fairly old and top heavy.

They got caught up in chasing stars that they have gotten away from what made them successful in the first place.

Mathews is going to be getting a call from the DOPS

That would be the right call. That crosscheck to the neck of Dahlin was flat out dirty. The laissez-faire attitude by Matthews after the game was equally awe-inspiring. :)

Paraphrasing:

"I guess the stick rode up on the shoulder... I mean a little bit..... but thats hockey"

and, so on.

DoPeS - over to you.

Agreed. I'd be upset if I was a VGK fan. They have essentially sacrificed what made them so deadly- the depth and the cap flexibility. They should have just taken their wins with the Pacioretty/Stone trades and stopped there. Gutting the team to make room for Peiterangelo and Eichel was a mistake. I'd rather have Tuch on my team than Eichel... plays a hard brand off hockey and you can tell based on the interviews that he's a great dude and probably an excellent teammate in the locker room. As opposed to Eichel who always gives off pissy diva vibes.
