Anyone see this?
It sure looks like the Stars player was trying to kick him going down because that sure does not look like an ordinary falling motion.

It certainly looked bad. I'd like to see some other angles.

Getting knocked backwards while standing on skates by someone also smearing you against the boards will frequently result in a falling motion which isn't "ordinary". Just my take, YMMV.

Yeah, you can be completely out of control. But just going by appearance that had a bad look about it.

They just managed to get value out of Fowler who also hasn't been as good as his reputation in years, so maybe they're on to something by asking for an overpay hoping that people haven't stayed up to watch Ducks games recently?
Still seems like there’s a narrative out there that Gibson is a good goalie on a terrible team and that has hurt his numbers. Which makes some sense… until you take a closer look and realize that almost every other Ducks goalie from 2019 onwards has put up better numbers than Gibson.

Excellent goalie for the first 5 seasons of his career, but he has seriously declined.

He's actually got decent numbers this year. Only 9 games though.

Good thing the Rangers gave Igor that extension, Kings have only put 5 behind him half way thru the game.

I wonder how much he'd be willing pay out of his own pocket to get out of Anaheim.
This could turn into the Mike Comrie story in reverse!

The Oilers then-General Manager, Kevin Lowe, was reportedly willing to trade Comrie to the Anaheim Ducks for Corey Perry and a first round draft pick,[10] but within that deal sought to have Comrie reimburse the Oilers $2.5 million,[11] which was part of the bonus money he earned from his entry-level contract.[12] After this deal fell through, Comrie was dealt to the Philadelphia Flyers in December 2003, for Jeff Woywitka, a first round selection in 2004 (Rob Schremp) and a third round selection in 2005 (Danny Syvret).[13]

Hellebuyck's 2019-2021 seasons put a big seed of doubt in my mind about whether there is such a thing as an elite goaltender who is just playing behind a bad team.

Oil with 5 W’s in a row now. They have been high flying offensively last few games.
The Oilers play a pretty dominant game but have been let down by poor goaltending or bad puck luck.

RNH, Hyman, Skinner, Henrique and Arvidsson were all shooting < 6% at 5v5 before December started (Hyman was shooting < 6% even including his powerplay time!).

Those guys are now regressing to their mean (e.g. Hyman was shooting 18% last year and his career average is 13.6%, as the most extreme example, but all those guys were shooting unsustainably low).
