Bell selling TSN?
Probably getting out before the cable sports market crashes. I think they can keep the main event programming on CTV, and move more towards streaming. Are the production costs of live sports worth their revenues? Divesting in the Leafs might mean liquidity issues. Who would buy TSN? American carriers?

I honestly wouldn't mind seeing Corus pick up the Jets if Bell walks away from them. As an old time CKND watcher, when the games were a lot more scarce.

Buffalo loses 7 straight. Buffalo, Detroit and Ottawa continuing their perpetual rebuild. Not looking forward to that era of Jets hockey.
I think Chipman and Chevy will do whatever they can, to avoid a true rebuild. The building would be 1/2 full every night is we were on year 14 of the rebuild, continually cycling through high draft picks and going no where like Buffalo.

I have no idea what the Canadian regulations would be but ESPN own 20% of TSN maybe them or rather the Disney Corp would be interested.

Corus' share values are in the negative value range...

And when Trudeau "retires" the payments to media will be stopped...

So Corus is in no position to buy the Jets... maybe a lemonade stand...

Other Toronto business interests maybe... It is the Toronto Sports Network after all...

Losing their share in the Leafs and Raptors though is not a play on Toronto. Just means Rogers have the 3 big fish in the Big Smoke now. Regional NHL rights hardly justifies paying all the personalities. CFL and World Juniors are probably the two biggest assets TSN has. RDS does well with Canadiens, which Bell has a share in.

I just wonder who would fill the TV void if Bell sells TSN to Americans. Don't think ESPN would put in the production for Jets broadcasts, they'd just show more Rangers in all likelihood.

US companies set up Canadian shells all the time. Probly one of them could get a licence here.
Nope. It's very clear in CRTC rules - broadcast licences can only be held by purely Canadian companies. Otherwise, the big US conglomorates would have bought Bell, Rogers and everything else in the 90's when they were totally out of control down here.
