Barzal is one of the most frustrating players to watch. All world skating and puck skills but continually makes sub optimal decisions on the ice. If he had above average hockey IQ he'd be a superstar

Hopefully that happens in the playoffs too.
He is mad about being sent down and being treated unfairly so now he's not trying.

Nashville 0-5 with a league worst -13 goal differential (yikes). Really tempted to dig up some “DO SOMETHING CHEVY” posts from early July. Colorado 1-4 is a slow start too.
Honestly Shit happens and I never take this stuff too seriously early in the season. Last year when Edmonton got off to that terrible start I never felt they were out of it. However Nashville needs to get their shit together because other than Josi (who is now 34), and Forsberg, they don’t have a very talented team. Last season they overachieved a bit made the playoffs by playing a really stingy game and also riding the career seasons from Forsberg and shockingly Nyquist as well as solid depth scoring. Off season comes and rookie GM decides what this group really needs is a couple of 34 year old skilled wingers from free agency and so far it seems that has been a bad idea.

It’s a huge piece. He needs to get going to buy them time to figure on their bottom 9 forward group. There first line is good but after that so far its a shit show.

2nd line: I'm sure Stamkos will find his place. Who is Tommy Novak? Evangelista, why isn't Marchessault here?
3rd/4th line: Matchessault and some guys.
Seems like a team competing for a wild card to me.

Why is it that foreign born hockey players can all learn to speak English but foreign baseball players need to rely on interpreters ?

Most foreign born NHL players come from Scandinavian countries where English is taught in schools from a pretty young age from what I understand. Indeed, Puljujarvi was mocked for his bad English coming from the Finnish school system & people were wondering what was up with him. In Russia where English access isn't as ubiquitous you have players using interpreters or avoiding doing interviews.
I don't follow baseball but don't most of their overseas players come from Japan and Central America? Places where the amount of English taught is a bit hit and miss and when it is taught it is like people taking Spanish in High School in Canada.
