Maybe only time I have clapped for a leaf player in a few decades.
The offense is stacked (though not sure about a checking line). The D group is one of the worst in the league and so is the goaltending.

They had 1 goal disallowed for goalie interference (Perry) and another disallowed due to being offside.

I don't expect them to return to the SCF anytime soon. Last season was their golden opportunity. It won't come again for years.

I am not really giving too much weight to how the Oilers are starting the season. They are shooting 3% after 3 games and that will normalize soon. They will be in the playoffs again this season if McDavid doesn’t get injured.
However, winning cups is always extremely tough so we’ll see if they have enough to get back to the finals again this season. Their goaltending is such a wild card, it could sink them so easily.

I have no doubt the Oilers will recover enough to make the playoffs. To much talent not too. However, their defense and goaltending aren't really SC winning caliber, IMO.
Rutger getting scratched today - if he is in the press box against us in 6 days the "Where is Rutger" chants will be amazing
