Not sure if it was posted here but I saw some chart that showed LA was great vs lower half teams but mediocre vs bottom half teams.

And then there was one. Blue Jackets need to bubble wrap Fantilli. lol.
Saw this on twitter/X:

(Lottery) cup favorites

The NHL will fast track them as Stanley Cup winners just like they did with Pittsburgh: multiple Stanley Cups with multiple consecutive #1-#3 draft picks, a few years of missing the playoffs, and then multiple top draft picks again and multiple Stanley Cups again.

seems like Leafs and Nylander have agreed to a deal. sorry to all of those who were hoping for Nylander to sign here for some reason. no idea how the Leafs will manage the cap and roster with all these insane contracts, but I do look forward to them continuing to fail in the playoffs.

Next year is really the only year when they could potentially have cap problems. Tavares will likely take a pay cut after next season, and Marner will barely get a raise unless he has a crazy year.

The Leafs basically signed their destiny with that deal. That roster is never going to win a cup, it won't ever have the depth or the goalie play they'd need. The deals will run their courses and the 50-year-carousel will keep on turning.

Good. f*** them. I hate the Oilers more than any living thing, but the Leafs are a close second.

For every Chicago and Pitt fast track, there is Edmonton and Buffalo

Incredible. Glad they're cleaning things up there in Chicago. Imagine telling a potential sexual abuse victim that he's not allowed to file a lawsuit because "he took too long."

Unfortunately it happens a lot. Nothing worse than telling legitimate victims the case couldn’t be prosecuted because the case was “out of statute.”

I didn’t realize that Buffalo was going to be 13 years out of the playoffs. I thought they would be a playoff team with the talent they have. Makes me wonder how much more rebuilding is needed for the Ducks even if we were to luck out with Celebrini. We probably need to prioritize getting established coaching and leadership so Cronin is likely just a temporary stopgap.

TeamLast appearance in post-seasonPost-season drought
2010–1112 seasons
2015–167 seasons
2016–176 seasons
2017–185 seasons

Cheers to not being the worst organization for at least another year!

The national broadcast of Rangers at Capitals game had an analyst (Dave Jackson) who specifically commented on a sequence of penalty calls that started with a clean hit (2 mins for unsportsmanlike to Lindgren and 2 mins for unsportsmanlike and 2 for roughing to Dowd); he addressed the PIM differential and said it was these calls were right because it was a clean hit. I would love to see Ballys hire one of these analysts for a few of the Ducks games.

The in-studio analysts (P.K. Subban, Mark Messier and Steve Levy) also discussed these penalties as well as a an earlier boarding penalty to Tom Wilson (that probably should have not been a penalty because the Ranger player saw Wilson coming and turned into the boards).

It would be nice if the Ducks had a defenseman like Fox who actually knows what he's going to do with the puck before he gets it and quickly takes the puck off the boards and shoots the puck on net from the point. On the other hand, Washington looked a lot like the Ducks in their defensive zone.

Pacific Division turning into a fascinatingly chaotic logjam. LA lost again, Vegas down 2-0 to Calgary in the second period, Oilers have won 10 in a row and the Kraken have won 9 in a row and are on a 13 game point streak.

As rough as our plan seems in this stretch, there would be nothing funnier than the Kings pushing the eject button on the rebuild 3 years ago and missing the playoffs this season following 2 straight first-round exits. Especially if Robitaille fires Blake and McClellan in order to give Marc Bergevin the top job

Good thing the NHL keeps pushing the Blackhawks as one of it's marquee teams.

Gross.

You’d think with the attitude that you reported sexual abuse to an appropriate team official and then telling you to just get over it isn’t “extreme and outrageous conduct” would give Perry a pretty good grievance against the Blackhawks.
