GM Hughes and his scouting guys he brought in look really bad in hindsight.
Its like they were better off with Bergevin who may have preferred Cooley because he's not afraid to draft skill over size.

Keep in mind that the PoHO in Montreal is Jeff Gorton, who by my record has had 6 top-10 picks in his 8+ seasons as a top team-building exec with both the Habs and the Rangers. They are as follows:

Lias Andersson (2017, 7)
Vitali Kravtsov (2018, 9)
Kaapo Kaako (2019, 2)
Alexis Lafrenière (2020, 1)
Juraj Slafkovsky (2022, 1)
David Reinbacher (2023, 5)

Some of those aren’t all his fault and might be a victim of circumstance, some of them are too early to tell, but that résumé screams OOF size: large

On an unrelated note to the actual game going on, do the Coyotes not have sponsors or is it just part of Scripps broadcasting that the commercial breaks during the TV timeout feature what appears to be little more than what could be described as a PowerPoint slide show of random stock videos and images?

Love to see it. Although I'd rather they hovered right outside the playoff contention and not at the bottom of the pack. Another decade of solid mediocrity is what that franchise and its fans deserve.
With McDrai that is a crime… even if there is some schadenfreude.

Sharks have had horrible attendance post-Covid, they'll have back to back sub 14k attendance seasons which we haven't had since the early 00's.

Heck even last season we were pretty much at 15k....which is staggering given the on ice product that was put out.
Last year was actually fun in person until the last 4 weeks or so.

How Gorton has a job is beyond me.
