Friedman had a nugget in one of his 32 blogs where the Renaissance Group who looked into a 2nd Toronto area expansion team had previously looked at buying the Coyotes but they backed out because of a lack of real estate possibilities nearby.

I heard that piece about The Renaissance Group. If I remember correctly they are in the Ottawa race with a big interest in Lebreton Flats development plan.

Funny times in NHL. Half the new owners are loaded and want to play for a few years while valuations grow and the other half are I'll take an NHL team and use it as the conduit to a massive real estate play. Many ways to skin the cat!!!

Imo Cooper is one of the best coaches in the League but I think his time in Tampa is running out. At some point you run out of ideas and the message gets stale.

Only 5 of those games were against current playoff teams and they only won a couple of those (including the shorthanded Rangers). Another 5 were against Montreal (3x) and Detroit (2x) in which they outscored them 27-9. That OT loss came against Chicago who they are currently trailing by 1 after the 1st period.

Not discounting them cause they're playing better than the start of the year but wouldn't be shocked if they come back to earth a little as the pressure ramps up with a tougher schedule.
