Incredible that players and coaches don't know the rules a broken stick is a broken stick you can't skate around with one and you can't play the puck with your feet with one

Things we learned from the Heritage Classic
- the NHL still holds the 'cringe' crown for embarrassingly bad PR stunts
- Kadri and Huberdeau are some of the worst contracts in the league
- How on earth is Kadri their 1C
- Lindholm and Hanifin have to be moved at TD
- Edmonton locker room is broken
- Oilers need more than one line shockingly
- Heritage Classic jerseys can actually fail
- Oilers need Darryl Sutter; Flames need Gallant

I don't know if this has been discussed, but the NHL has opened talks with the NHLPA about neck guards:

Daly: NHL has initiated neck guard discussions with NHLPA – Sportsnet.ca
It would be in the league's best interest to do so.
Proactive and protects against potential liabilities for future.
I doubt many players will wear one.
Naturally it was a horrible accident but life unfortunately takes many twists and turns and the players are aware of the risk.
I doubt the NHLPA would vote to mandate these guards.

I'm old enough to remember when the PA pushed back against mandatory helmets.

Guy Lafleur wore one for his first 2 or 3 seasons.

Pretty soon they will be dressed in something similar to a knight's armor. Totally against mandatory neck guards.

Why don't we make them wear cages while we are at it? One day someone will die by a pick to the head.
