Dubas really f'd this team and unfortunately for the Leafs Treliving is no better.
Dubas was fine. Overpaid a couple of guys maybe but the issues weren't necessarily team composition at that point.
Treliving brought in "sandpaper" types that old school hockey people seem to think a team needs to succeed like Domi and Bertuzzi, which, fine, they have a bit of scoring but are generally limited players, and then sign no talent Reaves to a multi year deal - and then he's out there to make a major giveaway on the first Boston goal last night.
The team's problem is that they can't collectively handle the pressure of the playoffs (sound familiar?). Boston is likely just a better team this year and losing to them in the 1st round isn't a disaster in itself, but the team should've won Game 1 but let in early goals in the first and second. They rallied well in Game 2, and then the two games on home ice haven't been good at all.
