Another elite win for the Habs. Looks like playoffs for them this season.

By next week we will be in the outside again
"In" the "outside"?

That's a heck of a trick.

Senators have been shaky with a crazy road trip, injured star goalie and what appears to be the flu running through the team.

Other teams have been on a heater and somehow we still hold down the last wildcard spot, with games in hand.

If goaltending is putrid with a save % around .850 then yep, we are done. If we can get some timely PP goals and get decent goaltending for a bit, the team is still in a good spot.

Tonight we may slip down OR we maintain while gaining another game in hand.

People did not believe he could be a legit top-6 guy in the NHL and thought we should stay away from him at the draft, yes.

I don't regret drafting Sanderson but I don't think we'd have been in a worst spot with Rossi. He's just starting to come into his own and he could hit 90 points next year.
people believe all kinds of things. Rossi had lots of supporters.. Some people overly bash players that other people like because its not their guy.
I was on team Rossi but not really top 5. To me it was more
Stutzle vs Byfield
Sanderson vs Drysdale
Rossi vs Perfetti I had Quinn and Holtz behind them

I wonder what a buy out on this would look like

Its an interesting structure for the player. Take $3mil instead of $6mil salary now for 3 years and then when you are 40 and no longer in the game you get $900k /yr for 10 years. A hedge i guess against losing money in bad investments perhaps. I wonder what factors went into his thinking. Perhaps a new trend starting

In practice the lines were:

Brady - Timmy - Norris
G - Pinto - Bath

I like the idea of Norris on the wing.

Tax breaks for when he's retired and not living in Cali.

I think Lebrun reporting that he will leave high tax state California explains the why. Will probably move to one of the no state tax states so he'll keep more of the money. Smart move, gives him that extra bit of security down the road + pay less taxes on it.

That must be a key part of it. But taking $18mil in the next 3 years instead of $9mil, you get 10 years of investing that $9mil difference. Id have figured that makes up for the taxes making me think there is something else at play. But maybe it just simply is that
