They traded the older goalie and kept the young one who had just as good numbers and more potential.

They definitely kept the right one and any team would’ve kept Swayman over Ullmark.

Definitely could argue they should’ve kept Ullmark this season though or at least waited until Swayman is signed to trade Ullmark. It was poorly played by Boston and the negotiation went public. Now Swayman, coming in with no training camp, has even more pressure. Boston as an organization really f***ed up this entire situation.

Not worried for Swayman though. 8 games won’t undo what he did over 100+ games.

The only justification for keeping Ullmark would be that they basically gave Ullmark away (within the division) for nothing. They could have kept Ullmark at a similar cap hit and traded Swayman for a legitimate return. Ullmark is still young enough that he should remain a starter for many years.

They got a 1st, but they had to take a negative value contract that should have cost a 1st to dump.

Otherwise, on paper, I don't think anybody keeps Ullmark over Swayman.

Covid draft. It is unreal how bad it was.. AND how bad it was in other leagues.

NHL... Round 1 and 2 are a joke. So far only 3-4 players are above average and a solid 30-40 are busts.

NFL.. al QBS taken are busts. And I am including Trever LAWRENCE. He is a middling QB who was suppose to be the next super star. The rest of the first 2 rounds are a joke. Not one ALL pro, only 3 pro bowlers. Two of which are Lawrence and Mac Jones.. a middling and a bust that had one good year.

The NBA... both rounds produced one bust after another. Only Scottie Barns is showing promise. And he is hardly HOF worthy.

WNBA.. all are middling to busts. No all star selection for any player

MLB, only a handful have played big league ball. 3 all stars.

the 2019-2021 seasons (2 in hockey, 2 in Basketball and 1 in football and baseball) damaged all who were playing.

The Sens got F'ed along with 145 other Pro teams.
I don’t buy the Covid draft excuse much. Pretty much the next 10 picks have been at least developing decently.

Boston may have not played the negotiating well, but nice to see a rival goaltender that thought he was so good that he could reset the market for goalie contracts have a rough start. Hard to say if it was elite defensive structure that propped up his stats or if he is worth the contract given their clear decline. Not sure I’d give any goalie that much term. Only time will tell, but hoping it continues and we take that wildcard spot because of his struggles.

Somehow I am more satisfied watching the wings lose than the leafs, bruins or habs. Such an unlikelable team and entitled fan base.

Staois ruined the Bruins. Took away their best player and replaced him with their worst player.

Korpisalo: “it was hard to say focused in Ottawa, great to be on a winning team now”

Also Korpisalo in Boston” 3.48 GAS, .971 Sv%”

JBD is also playing on a perennial contender. I’d rather have JBD because he’s not soft

1. I don't think you understand what contender or perennial means.

2. In what world is JBD some gritty player and DeAndre Miller is super soft.

Just wow. If you'd prefer JBD over Miller at this point in time I don't know what to tell you.

I thinks it just that some people seek attention by stirring things up and by making controversial statements? The fact that jellyfish survived for 650 million years without a brain does provide some hope though.

Hopefully it says the same but I am loving how pathetic the Habs are so far.

"A proper rebuild is fast! We are ready to be good!"

Hahaha

It's incredible to think about how young that defensive group is.

Dennis Savard is 34, Mike Matheson is 30

Everyone else is 23 or under.

I'm glad that's not our experiment. It's the same criticism the Oilers management got when they started rebuilding before they finally wandered out of the wilderness getting McDavid. I think the Oilers the issue was the young forward group though. But still. It took a guy who will go down as an all time great to save Edmonton from the abyss.
