Splitting hairs but he wasn’t really fired. When they brought him in they told him it was temporary and just for the remainder of the year.Torts fired

Definitely think they would’ve, i feel like they very much already have someone in mind and just needed a placeholder until end of season. Would not surprise me if Torts’ access pass has already been revoked and his belongings left on the street. As you said, it is Vegas. Would’ve been crazy to see it play out thoI'm curious if they would have still let him walk had they won
Seems like a wild concept but this is Vegas
They wouldn't have a choice no? He's not under contract now isn't heI wonder if they'll let Edm and the leafs interview Torts...
I assume he's under contract until Jul when the new season officially startsThey wouldn't have a choice no? He's not under contract now isn't he
lol. Sure, it was Torts' fault they lost...
Incorrect.
His contract only ran until the end of the year, it just hasn't been renewed.
Knights will probably give the job to Ryan Craig, the Knights' AHL bench boss and the former captain of the Brandon Wheat Kings when McCrimmon was GM/coach.
Maybe? He was certainly involved, they may have supported the decision to not allow press into the locker room, the team was warned multiple times, if they didn't support him on it, they probably force the issue and make him give in.But wasn't it his fault they lost a second round pick?
I really can't see that happening, that bridge is burned.Or they bring back Cassidy, which explains why they wouldn't let him talk to anyone, only to fire him next spring for Torts again.
Some of the "prior incidents" they had been warned about supposedly happened earlier in the season before he got hired as well.Maybe? I suspect they just didn't think the league would come down so hard,
I'm confident Cassidy would tell them to get stuffed if they tried that.Or they bring back Cassidy, which explains why they wouldn't let him talk to anyone, only to fire him next spring for Torts again.
The Saturday “Hockey Night in Canada” is a legendary, tradition though. Once their familiar theme music started, it was hockey watching time. It will seem kind of weird not to have it anymore. The CBC broadcast was redundant anyway, I never saw the point of them showing the leafs on both CBC and Sportsnet, especially with the Sens banished to some random channel.
If this means CBC pivots to showing more Olympic sports (track and fields, swimming, downhill skiing, speed skating; although I realize they already some of this to an extent), then it makes sense from the point of view of a public broadcasting channel focusing on non-pro sports.

That's a very good point, patience paid off, calm and steady!Canes have made a lot of mistakes. The most important factor is staying consistent. They kept Rod and staff for 8 years when most teams overreact and need to fire people. Carolina is an example of slow and steady.
This is the definition of enshitification, they took an OTA broadcast that was sent across the Nation in uncompressed HD and over time bit by bit stuck it on the shittiest of streaming apps, compressed to shit, and gave us one of the worst broatcast productions of any Hockey broadcast. Oh, and they overcharged the f*** out of it too.The CBC broadcast was redundant anyway, I never saw the point of them showing the leafs on both CBC and Sportsnet, especially with the Sens banished to some random channel.

Because why would we want a so-called 'national institution' to be broadcast OTA for just any Canadian to watch on a national broadcaster? Not when there's money to be made!
How I long for the days of catching practically every Sens game on CBC and the New RO/A-Channel. I never realized how good I had it.
I'm using "enshitification" every chance I get going forward. Great way to describe all things CBCThis is the definition of enshitification, they took an OTA broadcast that was sent across the Nation in uncompressed HD and over time bit by bit stuck it on the shittiest of streaming apps, compressed to shit, and gave us one of the worst broatcast productions of any Hockey broadcast. I don't think you understand what enshitification is then... there's lots to criticize CBC over, putting profits over user experience isn't really one of them though, they don't seem to care about either of those things.... the care about accessibility and serving a diverse demographic at the expense of profits or user experience.I'm using "enshitification" every chance I get going forward. Any interest in Ersson as a back-up if the Leafs don't qualify him? Could be a target to play with Levi in Belleville, too
