We need the CBC, as it is 100% Canadian. And equally as important, it isn't the viewpoint of corporations, like Bell, Rogers, etc are.
I'm not a conservative, although I don't mind Progressive Conservatives, but they are right to say the CBC is very biased against them, which is understandable because the Reform Cons want to shut down the CBC. A good idea would be to have a daily political program where the Liberals and Conservatives get equal time to present their views. And smaller parties like the NDP and Greens get time as well.
It does bother me that Postmedia is American owned, and feeds us the biased American viewpoint. Obsession with Joe Biden and his laptop. Headlines like "Trump is joking about annexing Canada", etc, is disturbing. For media to receive gov't subsidies, they should have to be Canadian owned. I'm fine with Postmedia being conservative, as they deserve media too, but it should be the Canadian Conservative viewpoint, not the American Republican viewpoint.
