Watson nailed a few Devils in the game without repercussion yesterday . He got a real quick stick shaft into Nico's ribs with no penalty called . It looked like it bothered him the rest of the game . My Dad 87 years young on a road trip attended the game....his first NHL game since 1976 when he watched Orr and the Black Hawks in Moncton NB in a pre season game with the Leafs . He recently shifted his allegiance to the Sens after 70 years of being a Leaf fan LOL....

Just look at this cycle the bruins are did on this goal. Everyone on the ice are moving, take notes Gallant.

It's amazing what you can do if you're skating and finding open space.... creating passing lanes/options for the puck carrier as opposed to standing still and watching the puck or staying easily defended.

That was beautiful. They need to learn how to cycle and move like this. Also watch Florida for how to breakout as a 5 man unit.

We cycle occasionally on the perimeter, my problem with this team for a long while, NO ONE MOVES with a purpose or at all.

Put yourself into position to accept a pass and be a threat. Create a passing lane and/or shooting lane for yourself. Find the soft spots. Roam through the slot. No one is cutting through the middle or creating confusion. There's no space being created.

We are way too easy to defend/play against sometimes. Is it laziness? Is it coaching? Is it that we're just a dumb/low hockey IQ team? is it we suck at finishing? or is it just bad luck? yes.

Plan to watch a little of the Devils tonight. I want to see what they're doing different. They always had a high power offense but what adjustments have they made defensively?

Like you said when we cycle we move a little bit. We never move this much or rotate the way the Bruins did in that clip. Not only is this effective hockey the way the Bruins do it but its super fun to watch.

I was impressed with Debrusk actually causing trouble in front of the net on his goal. The rangers don’t do enough of that.
The rangers cycle quite well, actually but have a hard time getting into the slot. They make it too easy on the goalie. Hoping they can figure it out.

Our guys support the puck carrier well. They keep the puck moving, they keep control. But it’s just pat-a-cake. They just don’t get the defense to collapse.
If they can get the defense to collapse in, that opens up the passing lanes.
I do feel like they’re kind of on the precipice of being effective.
Not sure what they need to do to make that happen though. I guess I’d be worth a bit more if I did :)

I actually was unimpressed in their game against Ottawa who are like an AHL club right now . I think the Devils will fall fast and hard when it happens . Ottawa had some good chances but could not score early when they had some .It does sound like the Devils have some great kids including another Hughes and a dman to replace Graves . The 4th line they have though is very good and big and fast like the line they had back a few years ago that owned us in the playoffs.....names escape me but they were a force.

Get in there and bump the goalie...fall into him at a whistle...Gallagher style[avoid penalties] and they will collapse when they see you heading in the direction of the crease with purpose involving their goalie . Create that confusion a few more times a game and watch our goals increase .

We are so vanilla right now it is scary ......it must be near the pre Wilson/Panarin levels .
