With about 30% of the season played, here are the top-3 teams who have surprised me the MOST.

Clearly better than I expected (I didn’t think they’d be above 0.700):
Washington
Winnipeg
Minnesota

Clearly worse than I expected (I didn’t think they’d be below 0.500):
Nashville
Pittsburgh
Ottawa

Minnesota has done a great job at drafting and building a strong team internally. They nail the draft every single year. The Faber trade was also huge for them. I thought Winnipeg would be a playoff team, but not this good, but they are starting to slip. Obviously, you can't stay that hot all season. But they have a lot of depth and 4 good lines. The PLD trade set them up nicely. Guys like Perfetti and Heinola also coming into their own.
Washington is the biggest surprise. McClellan has done a great job there the last few years. Another strong drafting team, and Chychrun for Jensen was a massive upgrade for them. Of course, Ovi having a resurgence helps.

Mason Marchment with a pretty cool goal.

Also surprised to see he has the 2nd most points on Dallas with 24 points in 22 games. Is on track to have a season comparable to his 2021-22 campaign with us, good for him.
