I can't see them going far with that roster construction, namely the defence. Pittsburgh is the only team I've seen take it all with a highly suspect backline. And Toronto's top forwards are not in the Crosby/Malkin echelon.Just read elswhere the last time the leafs won a cup, was the last time Boston and Detroit missed the play offs in the same year, please, Wings don't let it happen.
Maybe but you know it's the playoffs everything can happen (tm KH)I can't see them going far with that roster construction, namely the defence. Pittsburgh is the only team I've seen take it all with a highly suspect backline. And Toronto's top forwards are not in the Crosby/Malkin echelon.
Yep. Only 39 more NHL records to go before Gretzky is just a footnote.Congrats to Ove last night. Erase Gretz from the books asap
Dammit.Something tells me the Panthers will have lost four straight when they play us Sunday.

Ball-busting aside, absolutely. It's a record that no one thought would ever be broken. I'm not a Gretzky fan either but he seems like one of the most stoked people to see this happen.Yep but this was the big one
Crazy.
Crazy.
I hate this goal so much.
How the f*** do the refs watch him take a player’s stick and use it to score?

There was a thread earlier in the year, I believe on the main boards, that pointed this out. It turned out to be across the board, so yeah there was definitely a change to the standard in how those stats were trackedThe NHL must be keeping stricter count on giveaways this season. Just looking at our team and a fair number of guys have double the giveaways they normally have. Just looking at the top of the league in pts guys and they also have much higher GA stats than normal.
