I will say, the fact that Ottawa got punished more than Chicago did, is frustrating.
Yeah, that's one word for it. A little more G-rated than what came to my mind though

Ya but they assured me that both Detroit and Boston are both gonna be bottom half teams this year so they're gonna get a top half 1st round pick from the DeBrincat trade "guaranteed"they also lost a first round pick in one of the next three drafts for the Dadonov thing
hell of a day in Ottawa
Chiarelli trades young established players only for middling dveteran defensemen. Stützle for ChiarotIncoming AlJo+Soderblom for Tim Stutzle trade if it happens.
Steve better act fast or Boston gets Stutzle. Bruins have Lucic, Chiarelli's breaking point.Chiarelli trades young established players only for middling dveteran defensemen. Stützle for Chiarot
Yeah wanted bigger role and a fresh start.Canucks fan here
Why did Zadina ask to terminate his contract ?
Was it for a bigger role…on the sharks???

Pretty much what others said. Sometimes the grass isn't always greener.
some players just cant accpt that face that they arent that special in the toughtest league of the worldYup.
He had been given plenty of chances but had played his way down the lineup here in Detroit. When he did play he was still getting 13 minutes with the Wings but with his lack of production he was going to have to constantly battle for ice time.
So he bet on himself by cancelling his contract to get a fresh start on a new team. I don't have ill will towards the kid I was just surprised at his inability to do put up points. I don't follow prospects but all anyone seemed to talk about around draft time was how great Zadina's shot was. And seeing it in the NHL it's nothing special.
He has played in all their games. Seems the actually is greener!
He's -12 and has a CF of 36%.
Yeah that is one thing that honestly surprised me the most about Zadina is that he was drafted and hyped a shooter. A guy that could snipe goals, and honestly from the moment he came into the NHL it specifically has been decidedly average. It isn't particularly accurate, isn't super hard, doesn't necessarily get away super fast. Like I would have expected a Sprong like shot with the way he was talked about.Yup.

He was getting talk as the #2 pick at one point, rivaling Svechnikov in some people’s eyes, and it was all because he was allegedly a ruthless sniper. How the f*** were the powers that be so off on this? And the fact that a lot of us wanted Hughes just adds insult to injury.Yeah that is one thing that honestly surprised me the most about Zadina is that he was drafted and hyped a shooter. He would have made $1.83M this season and $910k on his buyout. He's making $1.1M with the Sharks, at this rate he's not getting another NHL contract.Ok, but if he was still with the Wings org, he would be riding the bus in GR. NHL on a shitty team >>>>>>> AHL
Zadina's thing was to set up at the FO dot on powerplays, and it was obvious early on that his timing sucked. He can't handle NHL speed passes, and he whiffed almost as much as he connected. That lack of timing impacted both his accuracy and his shot velocity.Yeah that is one thing that honestly surprised me the most about Zadina is that he was drafted and hyped a shooter.
