The Oilers this offseason are kind interesting to see what route they take. If any team had a reason to be super aggressive and put all there chips in it would be the Oilers. They should buyout Nurse. Hopefully they don’t because if they buyout Nurse and Campbell, they would have a real chance to upgrade their team next year. NHL teams are never super aggressive but if there was a team that should it would the Oilers with McDavid and Drasaitl contracts both expiring within the next two years.

This is kind infuriating, I actually liked him. The "Bruce there it is chant" was very cool, so was the champion belt thing. His messy departure had tons of fans raising questions about our management, as it was indeed handled poorly...but now, Bruce, what are you doing there...

Watched Paul Maurice's presser today - very well spoken, honest and likeable guy. Reminds me a lot of Tocchet. It's no surprise his team plays with the intensity and work ethic they do with a guy like that leading them.

Oilers are f***ed in contracts not so much this off season but next. The Nurse deal is killing them and with both Leon and McDavid needing new contracts shortly. I can see them blowing things up and rebuilding yet again while they have the assets. We are closer to a contender than they are

Now Paul Maurice could easily asked someone like Okposo or Kulikav: go out there and don't come back until Draisaitl's knees are broken. Conversely, there's NOTHING to stop Kris Knoblauch from pulling Kane or Perry on the side and ask them: make sure Tkachuk has a concussion next time you hit him and you hit him HARD.
