Ironic that the Panthers have been feasting on those careless soft passes high in the zone for two postseason and now the Oilers are doing it to them on the regular.

Paul Maurice really can’t finish the job ever eh
Well they still have two kicks at the can but it doesn't look like they've made any adjustments since the Oilers made theirs (which IMO were minimal other than having mcdavid assert himself).

He's always floundered in these situations because like AV his only solutions have been been "try harder, do the same thing better".

If Edmonton wins the whole thing—I don’t think I will quite get over how close the Canucks were to winning four games in our series with them.

It certainly has felt closer that what Florida has done this series. Even with their three wins so far.

We're a damn good team, just need to keep building and we might just crack this "Win a Cup" thing.

One shot. They have one shot.

Every top player for Florida has been invisible. No balls on this Florida team who acted like they already won.

Two Cup losses on a row is crazy.

As expected OEL looks worse with more icetime. Part of the reason he was doing so well on Florida is that he was third pair. Not a great move by Maurice IMO.

Florida is 100% cooked. Finished. Done. Top guys are gassed. There is just zero signs they are going to get into this game.

This feels like Game 6 and 7 of the 2011 SCF.

The cumulative effect of 2 long playoff runs are showing.

It really starts feeling like 2011 again when you think about it. Silvos played good but I don't see Demko allowing three goals every game.

The real difference though was Pettersson.

There’s no substitute for talent. Florida has less. This is why we need to pay up for a winger.

Yep. They can acquire all the Carney's, Smokinski's, Roy's and depth players all they want, but having star players, actual star players, makes a huge difference.

Not saying depth players aren't intricate, but having top end players makes a world of difference. In certain cases, I'm willing to pay up.

While it looks like this Florida team is done.. I feel we are not appropriately weighing the the funniest scenario, where Oilers battle all the way back and lose in game 7.

Probably would be more painful than a sweep would have been.
