Around the League Thread | Post Purge

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

If Minnesota loses tonight, we have a game in hand back seven points, but look at that schedule, lots of desperate teams
Minnesota is falling. Some strange things happening in the NHL this year. Detroit fired their coach and were 12-4-1 in their first 17 games under Mclellan, since then 8-11-1. The Blue Jackets over the past 18 games have a "net power play" of minus 2.9. Canucks are back into top 12 in scoring over the past 15 games.

The gap is widening between the top and bottom of the league. If you added two more teams to the NHL. That gap is going to widen even further.

Don't worry, the officiating will even everything out, or make sure the right teams succeed!

Oh wow BOS just got blown to piece by ANA.

Having traded Marchand out (like or hate him, dude's the heart and soul of that team), are they gonna be able to do anything for the next couple of seasons before Patrnak wants out?

Gotta give it to the Oilers there. Great final 10 minutes of the third. Without McDrai. They made it interesting.

Skinner might be concussed. Rantanen got a knee on him

Aye, no McDavid no Draidsitl, team went into berserk mode in th 3rd, against one of the top teams in a game with severe early goal disadvantage.

I often wonder why throughout McDrais prime Oilers have yet to go "all in" at a deadline. They haven't ever made any major wow factor moves. They are going to look back on it as one of the biggest missed opportunities in the franchise history.

Mostly because they are consistently spending whatever assets they have constantly trying to fix their broken defence.

Was already cheering for the Caps. Ovi about to break Gretzky’s once untouchable record, the team looks energised this seasonlike they have a date with destiny.

Will cheer extra hard for them now!

Torts is out in Philly.

We're halfway to frank Seravalli's wet dream coming to fruition.

Torts had 1 year left after this one. Not likely to have let him just finish out the contract. Either fired or extended in the summer. So, this firing is just about 10-12 games earlier than I thought it would have occurred.

Think this was torts last ride in the nhl. He turns 67 in June. Though he looks good for his age.

I had never heard of Protas before. 1st in the league at +43 and 64 points at 24...and he's 6'6 245lbs.
2019 draft year. Most people would forget about any non first rounder. He and McMichael are big reasons for their resurgence from WC to top team in the East.

Impact of a good draft are typically felt like 5 years post draft after the kid completes chl or more ncaa seasons or stays in Europe for a it then complete elc.

BU trails Ohio 2-1 late in the second.

edit: 2-2 now

edit2: 3-2 Ohio who score on the next shift. lol.

edit 3: 3-3 as BU scores on the next shift as well.

3 goals in 42 seconds.
