Not only that, but now Columbis is giving up a 2nd to Vancouver to hire him
Holy ****!

Kessel is and always will be a floater. I've watched Pens games and he still avoids the boards like the plague.
It's incredibly funny seeing Crosby do all the hard work behind the net only to see him win the puck battle and turn it over to the D because Kessel wants no part of a 50/50 chance to retrieve the puck.

That is...surprising. Richards is a fantastic coach and I don't think he's really the main person to blame for this (though a 7 game losing streak is definitely on the coach). He's definitely getting scapegoated.
Torts was still under contract, but released from his duties. Van should not get a pick.
6 years
1 playoff spot (lockout season)
slow starts every years +
0-7 start
doesn't really seem like being a scapegoat. though, he shouldn't be all of the problem, i think. it's like Bob forgot to goalie, and everyone basically forgot how to score. (and defend).
Doesn't matter, they still do. It's kind of dumb but it's the new rule. I think it should only happen if it's more a situation like the Babcock situation, or hiring a coach from the AHL (like if someone was to hire Blashill instead of him moving up, that type of thing).
Well colour me wrong. I don't know why, but I was thinking that Richards was a more recent hire than that. Like much more recently lol. Woops. Yeah he's a little more responsible than I was thinking lol.
I'm still stunned by Bob's lack of play. Like totally gone. Bob definitely forgot to goalie. I'm still a little stunned that he came out and said he had no confidence. Like that's crazy. I would do anything to feast on that as an opposing player.

it's like he caught Mike Smith-itis.
Bob said that? like flat out? (I wonder if this was code for .....in my defense/team - or like was it "Bob, how do you feel about your skills?" Bob: "I have no confidence."?).
Maybe Smith did some voodoo to steal Bob's mojo lol.
And yeah flat out said that. And Richards not playing him last night was pretty much not going to help him out at all in teh confidence department. Torts might be good for his confidence.
The faster they do away with this picks for hiring fired personnel the better.
The fact that the Blue Jackets will have to give up a 2nd round pick because they hired a guy in the season rather than the offseason is obscene.
no.
the fact that the Blue Jackets hae to give up a 2nd round pick to Vancouver for a fired coach is obscene. He hasn't worked for 535 days. why the hell does Vancouver need the 2nd rounder.
2nd round picks "in season" should go to executives, scouting, all of that jazz that actually impact the loss. not a Torts. (Or a Carlyle).
