Quite frankly, it scares me how well the Habs are doing

If they win the Cup I will be devastated

Poor Jackets - I really feel for them.

Bolts vs Preds last night had a pretty sick OT. Fast paced and like 1 whistle. Stamkos looked good to me.

Kessel is and always will be a floater. I've watched Pens games and he still avoids the boards like the plague.

It's incredibly funny seeing Crosby do all the hard work behind the net only to see him win the puck battle and turn it over to the D because Kessel wants no part of a 50/50 chance to retrieve the puck.

Why would you try and make Kessel a board player. That absolutely isn't playing to his strengths. It was always an idiotic notion that Leaf fans had trying to make him a board player. It would be like taking a Lambo and using it to move a bed from your old house to your new house. Just dumb.

Jackets have fired Richards and are HIRING ****ING TORTORELLA :biglaugh:

Oh, this is going to be FUN

That is...surprising. Richards is a fantastic coach and I don't think he's really the main person to blame for this (though a 7 game losing streak is definitely on the coach). He's definitely getting scapegoated.

6 years
1 playoff spot (lockout season)
slow starts every years +
0-7 start

doesn't really seem like being a scapegoat. though, he shouldn't be all of the problem, i think. it's like Bob forgot to goalie, and everyone basically forgot how to score. (and defend).

Torts was still under contract, but released from his duties. Van should not get a pick.

Doesn't matter, they still do. It's kind of dumb but it's the new rule. I think it should only happen if it's more a situation like the Babcock situation, or hiring a coach from the AHL (like if someone was to hire Blashill instead of him moving up, that type of thing).

Well colour me wrong. I don't know why, but I was thinking that Richards was a more recent hire than that. Like much more recently lol. Woops. Yeah he's a little more responsible than I was thinking lol.

I'm still stunned by Bob's lack of play. Like totally gone. Bob definitely forgot to goalie. I'm still a little stunned that he came out and said he had no confidence. Like that's crazy. I would do anything to feast on that as an opposing player.

that's pretty much what's going to happen at the BoG in january. Bettman hates this rule too.

it's like he caught Mike Smith-itis.

Bob said that? like flat out? (I wonder if this was code for .....in my defense/team - or like was it "Bob, how do you feel about your skills?" Bob: "I have no confidence."?).

This is exactly what I envisioned of Kessel and Crosby together. Kessel is Kessel.

Maybe Smith did some voodoo to steal Bob's mojo lol.

And yeah flat out said that. And Richards not playing him last night was pretty much not going to help him out at all in teh confidence department. Torts might be good for his confidence.

hmm. i wonder too....
if he's just ....becoming Philly Bob. like I remember he wasn't "that good" which was why it made sense for Holmgren (heh) to trade him. and then he exploded into Vezina Winning Bob. and then a few injuries, (and when he came back he was lights out) - but basically, maybe it was just a fluke thing. Kinda like Cam Ward in Carolina. reallllllyyyy good, but then just medicore, but with an expensive contract.

this is true though. Torts may be a gong-show, but at the beginning he's v. good to his guys. (Dubinsky though might not be too happy).

The faster they do away with this picks for hiring fired personnel the better.

The fact that the Blue Jackets will have to give up a 2nd round pick because they hired a guy in the season rather than the offseason is obscene.

no.

the fact that the Blue Jackets hae to give up a 2nd round pick to Vancouver for a fired coach is obscene. He hasn't worked for 535 days. why the hell does Vancouver need the 2nd rounder.

2nd round picks "in season" should go to executives, scouting, all of that jazz that actually impact the loss. not a Torts. (Or a Carlyle).

Shhh, at least until after someone hires Carlyle.

We should give Boucher a contract as a "Coaching Consultant" or something.

Doesn't matter what his position is now, it matters what he gets hired into. If any team wants him as their head coach (and he seems to be a the top candidates for replacing someone of the coaches not currently under cotnract), then we get a 2nd.

Torts will turn that team around into a serious contender. Imo still one of the best coaches in the business.
