Was 2015 the season we could've made the playoffs but lost important games to Calgary/Edmonton?

I think I may be thinking of a later season but I believe it's when we had Iginla. Same situation.

I was at the Calgary game where LA was eliminated.
Ironically RIchards was our best forward that game. The dome was going nuts like they had just won a playoff round. Was louder than when I went to a Tampa game in the 04 finals.

The year we had the same points as 2012 but it wasn't enough. I think we also broke our home win record too?

It would be the most Kings thing ever to set the record for most points not in the playoffs. We were close in 2015, having the exact same record that won the Cup in 2012...

10 games left, 6 of which against bottom feeders. If we get 10 points in those 10 games, we have 96 points. The chips would just have to fall as they may after that and I would still consider it a successful season. if we can't go at least 5-5 in the rest of the schedule basically all being playoff games, we don't deserve it anyway, and I wouldn't consider the season a 'failure' necessarily given circumstance, but it would certainly hang a dark cloud over a LOT of decisions.

I dont care about 2nd place, 3rd would be fine - we still play Electronic Dance Music and they seem like the type to choke out some bad beats. Edit: main concern is fending off VDK - if we dont do that, we arent in.

Dating back to 2000, the highest I could find is 96 points on three separate occasions: Montreal in 2019, Florida in 2018, and Boston in 2014. If the Kings miss the playoffs and finish out the year 5-4-1 or better, they'll hold the record. That would take them to 97 points or higher.
 
Good to see Marty helping his old team with a horrible pass attempt out of his own zone resulting in a turnover and goal for Canucks

At this point to put it simply if the Kings go 5-5 in their last 10 Knights have to go 7-3 Kings go 6-4 Knights have to go 8-2

Knight have Oilers, Flames, Caps, Stars, Blues.
They play 4 games in 6 nights last week of the year.

Also the looking at the Stars schedule of 12 games in 20 days, yikes...
