If the pacific wasn't so bad Vegas would be endangered to make the playoffs

Well, right now Vegas is 8th in points % in the West. If Edmonton gets a point tomorrow and Dallas beats Buffalo, they slip to 9th. Believe it or not, the Kings have a 10% better chance of making the playoffs than Vegas right now. I'm usually a glass-half-full kind of guy, but that's something I didn't expect to be typing at this time of the season.

They are in fact in danger of missing the playoffs. They are eighth in point percentage in the West-and just ahead of Dallas. Dallas has two games in hand, and if they won both, would be ahead of the Golden Knights. That’s how precarious their playoff position is now,

Edit- I see Fishhead beat me to the punch there.

If you had told Ducks fans before the year that Terry might score 40 goals and Zegras 65 points I wonder what kind of year they would have thought they’d have had.

Talk about a squad let down by some of their veteran guys.

In a lot of ways they have had an opposite season from the Kings in that regard.
Their vets have always been a problem and now they just have Getzlaf and Fowler? That's not a good leadership core.

Guess they didn't poll Brisson

Edit: Jokes aside some of the feedback is really interesting

"
“You know which teams stay in the nicer hotels, have the nicer flights, and have the better services overall for a client.”
“Practice facilities or arena is a good place to start. That’s a reflection of how an owner is willing to spend for their players. But look at other things, like massage therapists and support staff. Does a team have one person handling the job of three people or do they have six people handling the job of three people?”
“My barometer for that is basically: Is the owner spending money on the players and the other things fans might not think of? The wives’ room, the kids’ rooms, the rink, the amenities on the plane. Those are the first-class organizations.”"

“It’s a three-year process, so it’s going to be every summer for the next three years,” Robitaille said. “Next summer, we’re starting on the event level underneath, Kelly Cheeseman has been following to make sure everything is done right. There will be some bunker suites, they’re going to re-do the chairman’s club, they’re going to re-do all the clubs for us, they’re going to re-do our wives room, which is important for us. A lot in year one will be on the event level, and year two they’ll go halfway. If I’m not mistaken, they’re going to spend more money on this rebuild than it cost to build [the arena]. It’s going to be a lot of changing, a lot of fun.”
Robitaille also noted that in the last phase, the Kings will get a newly designed locker room at home, a nice note for the team, but the bulk of the upgrades will be put towards increasing and enhancing the fan experience. Good signs all around.

LA Kings State of the Franchise: Key Takeaways + Quotes from Robitaille, Blake, Emerson - LA Kings Insider

It's funny, we used to pull that every weekend in tournaments. I'm a little surprised it took that long for the serious misdirection to go on. Even if it weren't a fake michigan, if both guys are in motion towards each other, you either need two checkers ready OR the goalie deeeeeep in his net and either prepared to go side to side at lightning speed or just drop and cover both posts hard. On the rare occasion that everyone picked it up in time, a guy was open in the slot with a shot at a goalie buried in his net.

Obviously a lot harder at high levels but it's a fun as hell set play because all of a sudden you have four players and a goalie in the crease crashing at speed

Yikes, I see Getzlaf has rubbed off of him already. Good player so far but needs to reign in the whining.

He was doing this in the game the vs. the Kings, it's embarrassing. Doughty is the same way with letting lesser players or the refs get into his head and it's caused him to be completely useless in a certain games every season.

Really good emotional comparison honestly.

Sometimes it's a useful edge, but once they tilt and see red...that game is gone for that player.

I hate homers, but there are so many in the league now that the teams have obviously determined that this is what most fans want to hear on the broadcasts. I don't have a problem with people like Sam Rosen who get overly excited for home team goals (Bob did too) but for the life of me I just don't get how people enjoy what people like Edwards, Hayward and Fox do during the broadcasts, It's like Pravda level commentary. But it seems like every new broadcaster and color guy that get hired around the league behave like this.

I was watching the Mighty Ducks with my daughter and hearing Bob's voice in that movie really did make me realize just how lucky we all were to have been able to listen to him for all those years.
