Ducks and sharts are 2-2 in the 2nd. Do I want san jose or the ducks to win? Not really but someone has to. Just no 3 point game. kthx

For what it's worth, the Kings have the fifth-easiest remaining strength of schedule. Vegas is third-easiest and Calgary 10th-easiest. Interestingly, Edmonton has the fifth-hardest schedule, while Ducks have the 10th-hardest.

It's entirely possible that Edmonton and Anaheim are battling each other for the last wildcard spot while we're battling Vegas and Calgary for spots 1, 2, and 3.

Of Edmonton's 32 games remaining, three are against Colorado, two are against Tampa, two against Calgary, and one each against Florida, Carolina, and Minnesota.

God damn, that’s terrible to hear. Hoping he recovers and can still play hockey.

Remember the Tarasenko to LA rumors in the off-season?

45 points in 44 games for the Russian. Sheshhhh.

Sounded like a few teams were spooked by Tarasenko's medical reports. Maybe some shades of Drew Brees when he was a free agent after his shoulder got wrecked in the final game of the 2006 season.

They screwed up that expansion draft so badly

Definitely some strange picks, but I think this is more what an expansion team is supposed to look like. Vegas had a built in advantage of being Vegas and played some hungover squads that first year. I love visiting Seattle, but it's not quite the same night life.

Vegas' initial success also made Seattle more of an attractive free agent destination. So they had the option of punting the Columbus/Philadelphia picks instead of taking on an expensive deal like Max Domi or Jakub Voracek. Then they could use that cap space to sign Jaden Schwartz.

At least when I was doing the mock drafts last year, the big ticket item I would have taken a look into was Ryan Johansen or Matt Duchene off of Nashville. Finding a top six center from the expansion draft was seemingly the hardest thing to find. But I could understand passing on those guys based on their declining production to that point.

I mean, minus the traveling the entire length of the rink to hit a guy bent over sure it’s similar.

End of the game. Score out of reach. Both were charging. Both were on players bent over to score an empty netter.

Scheifele hit was much more predatory, but compared to Bennett Scheifele isn't know to do that. Bennett on the other hand...

from EF's 32 thoughts, MacKinnon loses his cool and swings a stick at the ref. He got off too easy.

32 Thoughts: Could the Predators trade Filip Forsberg? - Sportsnet.ca

17. Whenever we’ve had to deal with an abuse of officials situation, I’ve always been told, “Let’s see what’s in the post-game report. That will determine where we go.” Colorado’s Nathan MacKinnon is very fortunate linesman Michel Cormier gave him a pass in the written version. That, as much as anything else, saved him a suspension. Not all of Cormier’s brethren agreed, but, at the end of the day, it was his call. Another official said that he knew MacKinnon would escape when no penalty was called on the ice.

BlueJackets taking calls on Texier, another young (22, 6'1 forward)player who they might trade early, a bad habit they have as the article points out. Injuries this year and playing for a struggling team haven't helped. But I remember him in the playoffs for them and he was good. He's young and still has room to grow, and as this points out, a pretty good IQ.
He's signed 1 more year at 1.52M

Blue Jackets Would be Foolish to Trade Alexandre Texier

Texier has as a penalty killer indicates that he has the IQ to get better here. Shayna Goldman of The Athletic recently took an (incredibly insightful and interesting) dive into players who generate offense while killing penalties. As it turns out, no one in the entire NHL generates more chances while down a skater.

oooh. Another trade with Columbus that would potentially lead to a cup! Do it, Blake! Just to piss their fan (singular :sarcasm:) off!
