Is this Vegas' Jeff Carter deal? I think it could be, only better.

Colorado is still the team to beat in the West. I wonder if they can add something to their roster that will make a big difference before the deadline.
IDK, the Avs have always struck me as a soft team.. skillful but soft
The Bruins just crushed them, not that it says much but I’d favor Calgary in the west

Could be, but Carter was cheaper to get and he wasn't a hit into the boards or falling down weirdly away from be done for the year. In the playoffs, guys won't go easy on him.

Calgary wins again, they are going to win the Pacific.

Winnipeg is on life support and gets closer and closer to being a seller at the deadline. A couple of expiring contracts in Stastny and Copp could be appealing to the Kings as options for the 3rd scoring line that wouldn't cost a fortune.

I would rather go after Dillon (D). The Jets need RHD and are over-stocked on the left. He's fairly cheap at 3.9 with two more years. He would help the PK and really help our under-sized D clear the crease of those hulking brutes in the WC. He leads his mediocre team by a mile in +/-. Of course a lot can happen in the next month and he wouldn't be a rental so they might wait until the off season to consider moving him.

MacKinnon is soft, very easily triggered. Just have to crush him a couple times and he completely starts to meltdown and gets thrown off his game.

They’re undersized on D, their goaltending is iffy and they still haven’t done squat!

It's funny I see Avs fans trashing Vegas, but Vegas has been to three conference finals in 4 years, eventually they'll get over the hump. Meanwhile the Avs haven't done anything. Last year people were saying the Avs wouldn't lose a game and were falling over themselves, then they got SMOKED by Vegas!

The Avs are the NHLs version of the Chris Paul clippers

5-0 Montreal over Toronto after 2 periods. Montreal! WTF happened?

I didn't think Hammond had any gas left in the tank, but he's playing well.

I haven't seen them play since St Louis took over, but for the first time all year, they won 2 games in row (3-0 in last 3). It appears he has had a good effect on them, has them playing with confidence again. From what I heard on a podcast the other day, the players love him. I am old enough to remember how pissed off he was when he wasn't drafted. That chip on his shoulder never fell off, for his entire career. He played that way every shift. And it could be, the Canadians players respect that about him, recognize he was one of them, understands the game, the ups and downs, the battles.
If they continue to play well, that is, most areas on the game have improved, he should be behind the bench next year as well.

Caufield has 5 goals, 8pts under St Louis, he only had 8 pts all year prior to that.

That advise, coming from a former player who was about the same size as him, would be all the difference.

MoneyPuck has Calgary ranked as the 2nd best team in the NHL behind Florida.

I believe it.

An aside: remember when there was a "serious" debate as to which was the better player between Stastny and Kopitar? Fun times...

Was just looking at some stats and saw Calgary has had just about the same 6 dmen and 10 fwds playing every game.
They only have 60ish man games lost to injuries with the only significant injuries to Tyler Pitlick and Brett Ritchie.
Not a big surprise they are leading the division.

They're definitely getting some health push compared to everyoen else
