See Florida makes more sense because they're absolutely in win-now mode and a few years of bargain Chychrun is great

dying laughing at the "two firsts and a pick" thread, because when we were like "Brown + x and a 1st," Edmonton had us beat with " Kassian + Turris + 2022 1st amirite"

In Philadelphia you can see what happens you you end your retooling / rebuild too soon.
Hextall wanted to keep on building and owners wanted to win now.
I am happy we are more patient

That is and historically has been the Flyers problem. Ed Snider never understood you build a champion, you don't buy one. Way too many draft picks, good prospects, young players traded for that 'veteran' difference maker. It never worked. Had he just had patience (which he didn't have) they could have created a very good team. THey could have won a Cup. Holmgren was a poor GM (and poor executive currenlty) and cost them.

Now Comcast owns them and although they need a true rebuild, my fear is that since comcast 's first concern is revenue (butts in the seats) and a true rebuild will cost them a few years where they will struggle, could translate into less attendance, they will continue to make bad 'win now' decisions.

Lose -lose situation. As I don't trust Fletcher to do the right thing. His lack of vision and understanding is costing this team. The Risto trade was a disaster. I'd rather unload him at the trade deadline, but fear Fletcher will try to justify that trade/assets lost by resigning him.

If Rangers fans are like Kings fans, they are offering up Laf and Kakko.

I don't think any Kings fans (that I've seen at least) are offering Byfield or Clarke, so I'm not sure how this compares. Kupari, Bjornfot, Vilardi, even Turcotte, sure. Byfield and Clarke? I haven't seen any proposals involving them.

Signing Danault and keeping Kopitar until the end of his contract signal the end for Turcotte here. Left wing is also full with Kempe, Iafallo, Moore, Lemieux. I wasnt in favor of the Danault signing because of this but you cant deny hes been a great addition.

Every single Flyers fan I know, EVERY SINGLE ONE, says they need to tear it down. I don’t get Comcast, you’re fanbase, the true fans, are begging for it, just do it.

He was when Hextall was there, not sure if he's still around or not.

I think he is, although he's a 'bit bitter', all of his tweets (if this is a legit twitter) are snarky comments about the Kings. Guess that is acceptable for 'senior advistor' which has a rather vague job description. I always felt Hexy tossed him a bone.

DL was last seen at a lecture hall in Columbus, Ohio rattling off about coulombs and neutrinos to the weak minded lemmings of the sports world.

Some have dubbed his speaking tour as, "Dean Lombardi Knows Stuff" but I digress.

That's a parody account. Fairly obvious, too, if you looked through the rest of the timeline.

Looks like a fake account. I don't think that was ever DLs style.

"Former GM of the Loss Angeles Kings."

deeshamrock is smarter than this.
I’m assuming deeshamrock was being funny. I am concerned with some of the other posts though. One of tweets says #fireblake and there are a couple of people like, “hey guys I think this might be fake” lol.

That's my twitter account. Sorry for the confusion. Yeah, I don't have an account. F Twitter.

How does that signal the end of turcotte? Guy can be a premier 2nd center in this league, got the intangibles too. That would be stupid to deal him away.

I agree with you. Kopitar is still here for 2 more seasons and Danault for 5. Byfield is ahead of him on the depth chart. That leaves 4th line center which is a role for Lizotte/JAD/Helenius. You think leave him on the Reign for two more seasons after this one?

He isn't going to be a 2C in LA. They have Byfield as the future 1C, Danault signed for 5 more seasons after this one and Kopitar for another two seasons after this one. Lizotte is going to be locked in as a valuable 4C. There just aren't enough opportunities for a center to break in. That is probably why they have been trying him at LW and Vilardi at RW. Which is btw lessens the value of each player (taken #5 and #11 OA).

4 centers in a row drafted in round 1 between 2017-2020, Danault signed to a 6 year contract from 2022-2027 and Kopitar under contract at $10m a season through 2024 and now we have one of the best 4th line centers in the league.
