It's just annoying because they're always like 'the penalties should be equal in a game unless we're the ones outplaying the other team than it should be extremely in our favor'

Imagine thinking you deserve better when getting outshot 40-24, outcorsi'ed 55-45 over the game and 60-40 over the final two periods, your best line is Kane's line, and your clowns in Kane and Nurse are trying to get penalized. It's like anyone with a brain could have seen an edge in powerplays and even then it wasn't until Edmonton started clowning around towards the end that the ratio got out of hand.

Sure every team complains about the refs but the active cheerleading from the media is gross

I think Edmonton is largely better than other (Canadian) fanbases are giving them credit for but it was always a contest to see who was gonna get cleaned out by the Avs anyway.
Eh, I think McDavid is better than other fanbases are giving him credit for. The Oilers are an extremely superficial team. McDavid is phenomenal. Draisaitl is great. Then you start hitting Kane and Puljujarvi, who are good... but as top players don't make the team they're on a cup contender. And Hymen and RNH are very good depth players.

Defense and goaltending are a mix of terrible and inconsistent.

Part of the issue is, the Oilers aren't a good matchup for COL....

STL if healthy would have probably taken them to 7, they were the best team to eliminate the Avs, and even then it was always going to be a toss up....

Oilers have....pretend grit......with the exception of Hyman......not many players go into the corners and come out with the puck.....not on one and one battles.....if you can't do that, you aren't winning the Cup...regardless of how much north-south talent you have.

You have to win in spite of the refs. Oilers shouldn't be complaining with all the uncalled high sticks & questionable hits thrown. Complaining isn't going to help you win.

AVS scored all their goals in about 3 mins. Oilers with about 5 mins left have 2 players in the box for undisciplined play. 😂

No real argument here but the thing is those top players have a habit of making everyone else look pedestrian period.

RNH-Hyman-Kane-Yamamoto are VERY good top sixers, easily comparable to anything else rolling out these playoffs. Smith is smith, but he's been nuclear and hate him all you want he has the best save percentage of any playoff goalie over time. The defense is of course mostly a shit show but people have been overlooking Ceci at large. And I guess that's really my point--it's obviously largely the McDavid show but this idea that they were some nothing team is obviously buried.

this.
I don't even think Leon is that good. He is pretty one dimensional, and definately benefits from McDavid.
Edmonton should deal him for some D and Goalie help

Besides the Cryotes in 2012, not sure I have seen a team or a fanbase cry so much about penalties or lack of power plays like Edmonton has.

It's like they know they are dead in the water if they can't go on the man advantage as much as possible.

McDavid + Draisaitl run the pick on the PP like they think they are playing basketball.

You mean not since the 2021 Oilers...crying about one sided officiating is what the oilers do best. It cannot be their fault so it has to be someone elses...f***ing edmonton, shit hole of a bum f*** town. I can say that because I lived there.

Looks like Vasilevsky has a weakness high blocker...so they said. Chester has quite an interesting style.. he is like a slinkier version of JQ the way he comes out to stuff plays he doesnt leap he glides forward.. its weird.

OK, come on now this is just a ridiculous take. Draisaitl has a 1.43 P/GP over the past 3 seasons, with 409 points. 3rd place is Patty Kane with 352. Of course he benefits, but no amount of playing with McDavid is going to elevate anyone to that level. He absolutely is that good and he has an 8.5 million dollar cap hit, which is a sweetheart deal. Who are you trading him for? Futures? If it is an established G and D, then the cap hit is likely going to be way higher than his and the talent will be substantially less.

Oilers finally have depth after getting Kane cheap mid season. Salary cap is going to bite them next year & they will lose that depth.

Rangers are the best tv watch going. I like their chances to win the cup if they get past the TBL. Colorado’s goaltending looks to be their Achilles heel.

Watching NYR v TB, i'm completely shocked at how the Rangers are looking so freaking good against TB. It's not just a great/hot goaltender. The Rangers are controlling and dominating for most of the 60 minutes. Speed, skilll, size, etc. TB has only had a few flashes, but otherwise it's been all NYR. I did not see that coming at all.

I’m willing to give Tampa the excuse that the Point injury is too much for a team that has played a lot of hockey. Last nights game was still close on the scoresheet even though watching it said different. My main takeaway was that the Lighting looked stationary and back on their heels all game.

With Point out, you need Cirreli to step up. He almost got killed by Trouba’s shoulder pad missile last night.

Yup, it's like they took some time to gain their footing but finally things started clicking, Chytil is a great cautionary tale about dumping your youth too quickly, for example.

I too am surprised. I thought TB would come out of NY with a split. Winning 4 out of 5 is no easy task for any team. Well, that is unless you are the 2014 Kings playing San Jose, or the NYR. :)
