Big Dik Nik Kucherov shows you what clutch looks like once again. Break out the bud light for the Lighting.

Wow, the Panthers pp was so much worse that i thought. It makes ours look down right lethal.

Epic fail on the last goal when 2 dmen go behind the net , leaving the front open with 5 seconds to go. Tampa wins 2-1

TBL is not the kind of team you can give extra lives to. That one is over.
Yup, too much experience there to give the Lightning this kind of opportunity. They may slip up and lose one of the next two at home, but I think this series is over in six games max.

Tampa Bay really has made the most of their window after struggling to get over the hump initially. If they win a third straight Stanley Cup, it will be an accomplishment that likely will not be duplicated in the salary cap era.

Has any other team ever hit so many draft homeruns in a single generation as Tampa has?

Stamkos 1st OA 2008
Hedman 2nd OA 2009
Kucherov 58th OA 2011
Vasilevskiy 19th OA 2012
Point 79th OA 2014

Most franchises are lucky to draft 2 of these types in one decade. Tampa drafted 5 in a seven year span.

It's gotta be an aberration.

Some guy named Al Murray had a pretty good run with the Kings at the draft, wonder what he’s been up to…

You could say we did something similar. From 2003-2008, we drafted Brown, Kopitar, Quick, and Doughty.

I agree that's a great run for us, but it's not that close to what Tampa did.
