they're doing what I wanted Blake to do last 2 years. Very smart using cap space to acquire picks.

They are going to have a boatload of space next year. Plenty of one year deals with their recent acquisitions.

Future cap space flexibility and a bag full of 2nd round picks.

and if a guy like Stralman showcases well he can be flipped at the deadline for more draft capital. Hell they are still rumored to be moving Keumper.

Would anyone be surprised if they pulled this off: Keumper to Carolina for conditional first (based on playoff run and playoff games played) that if not met turns into a 2nd. And then Koskinen + 2nd for nothing.

They’ll shit the bed on this. There’s a recent trend of team doing a poor job with multiple picks in the same round, especially 1 and 2 (Boston and Columbus come to mind).

Lots of D men being moved this off-season.

No moves by Blake yet. The #1 area of concern I have for this team is on the back end too. Not trying to witness 50+ games from Maatta.

The off-season is still young. Maybe they are targeting the top free agent and want to learn that person first so they know what they have to deal with money and prospect wise. If the rumors are true and we’re after Danault that may free up a guy like Turcotte to try and bring in that defenseman.

They’re more gunning for Wright/Bedard now. If they secure one of those + 2 picks working out from the second round they can be on the upswing.

Might be possible for them to package some of those picks for a later first round pick as well.
Year of the Arizona tank.

Would any of you give 4 1rd assets for Chychrun?

Turcotte, Kempe, Kupari or Madden and 2022 1 OA? I know that gets thrown around a lot for Eichel, but would you do it for an elite, young LHD defenseman? Just curious.

Any of them d-men that people want to the left of Doughty? No? Ok.
Ryan Graves, Nick Leddy, Ryan Ellis, Philippe Myers, Jake Bean, OEL, Shayne Gostisbehere, Robert Hagg, Seth Jones, Rasmus Ristolainen.

Lots of teams have improved with these additions.

I'm more worried of adding someone on the back end than acquiring another top six forward.

Vince Dunn is no Olli Maata of course, but he belongs on that list.

2 seconds for Dillon is lolllllll

I hope blake laughed as he hung up and called back and laughed some more on voicemail

Detroit is not qualifying Svechnikov. Looked pretty good some games I watched them this year and could be a good pickup.

He was on waivers this past season. Hasn't moved the needle much there since being drafted in the 1st round in 2015. Talk is they want to bring him back on a 2-way deal.
