Zads was a presence and a deterrent when he was on the ice for us.

Look at him wrong and he has no problems coming over to introduce himself usually in the form of glove to the face.

He’s really cocky and sure of his abilities. Saw it in Calgary and saw in Vancouver.

Can’t really comment on what’s going on bean town.

Would welcome him back easy.

Have to laugh reading the data on Oilers and their lack of speed.

25 Mcloed 4-1-5 +3
28 Foegele 4-1-5 +6
23 Holloway 4-1-5 0
23 Broberg 2-7-9 +6
29 Ceci 0-2-2 -4
28 Desharnais 0-1-1 -1
= 14-13-27 +10

32 Skinner 2-3-5 -1
31 Arvidsson 1-3-4 0
34 Henrique 1-0-1 -5
23 Podkolzin 0-2-2 -4
30 Stecher 0-0-0 -1
24 Emberson 0-0-0 -3
= 4-8-12 -14

Worse production, older and slower

Well done dirt bags

Very early on obviously, but seems to me that Nashville, Boston the Islanders, and Colorado were all playoff teams last season--but in world of trouble so far this season.

Injuries have been part of the problem; but all these squads are just really bad defensively at the moment. I'm beginning to think that in the East, we're going to see a dramatically different playoff situation by next spring.

Boston and Colorado will be fine and I'll be stunned if either misses the playoffs.

NYI and Nashville are old, slow, mediocre teams and yeah, both are in trouble.

Boston is a team i could see being very interested in Pettersson if things continue to go sideways here.

I'm sure they would be but unless McAvoy is coming back the other way (and they won't be moving him) there is basically zilch there either in terms of mid-20s assets of value that could help us now nor is there anything in their system. They simply wouldn't be able to put together a package.

A team like Columbus, on the other hand, literally has about 12-15 assets that we would have significant interest in. And the cap space to do a deal.

Pretty much only appealing trade chip the Bruins have is Mason Lohrei and I have no read on if he's actually any good.

Same. He has a really high skill level for a 6'5 D but I'm unsure of where his defensive game is headed. Not physical at all.

You can see a small chance of him turning into a poor man's Dougie Hamilton or something, but it feels like the Wiercioch-Franson range of results are significantly more likely.

Columbus would be an intriguing one for a few reasons.

- They are very unfortunate to be down a franchise player and with a ton of cap space (RIP JG).

- They would be far away, so minimal risk of him coming back to haunt us.

- They are chock full of young talent, and this team needs all of the ELC help they can get with the impending OEL crunch.

- Most importantly for Pettersson, he would be a relative nobody in Ohio. Might be the perfect place for him to get a fresh start and focus on hockey again.

Something to think about. If they're interested, I could definitely see a deal.

From the previous thread @Just A Bit Outside

Formenton is a f***ing clown.

Suck it up and deal with the consequences of your actions.

I understand what you're trying to say here and I do think everyone is entitled to exercising their rights. Formenton has the right to sue his former agent. This is separate and apart from his alleged criminal conduct which he is also entitled to have the Crown prove their case.

I haven't read the actual court documents so I am basing everything on what has been reported. Some of the facts alleged seems BS to me. Like I thought he signed in Europe AFTER he was ineligible for the season? He's now saying he suffered a loss because his agent didn't properly advise him of the consequences/impact to his career if he signs in Europe? Doesn't make much sense. Not knowing about the fact he could negotiate an extension on Jan 1 if he signs his QO? Okay... maybe players really don't know these things but sure he should be advised of that but what's the loss?

He's obviously not going to get $20M but I won't say he has no claim. For example, he was only given a qualifying offer which he did not sign. Did he formally reject the offer or let the offer lapse? If he formally rejected the offer then the fact that his agent didn't ask for an extension is irrelevant. But it sounds like he wasn't signing it anyways. So this part that he alleges is just noise.

Obviously circumstances can change quickly and agents do misread the market from time to time. In the normal course of business, the guy is coming off a an 18 goal 32 point season. Every single person here would tell him to reject his QO of $787.5K. BUT that's not knowing about the pending criminal charges. The pending criminal charges changes everything. If his agent was told by the Senators and both sides are of the understanding that Formenton would likely be charged and there will not be another offer besides the QO until the sexual assault allegations are resolved then Formenton's agent should advise Formenton of this and recommend him to accept his QO. If that was the circumstances and his agent told him it's business as usual and he'll 100% get a better deal for him then does this constitute negligence in which he is entitled to damages? Could be.

There's also no recent precedence of players being suspended without pay pending the outcome of a criminal case. Virtanen and other players charged were granted (paid) leaves of absences. I don't anticipate anyone arguing here that he shouldn't have accepted his QO in hindsight?

Plus their GM tried to trade for Petey near the deadline.

The list of interesting assets is just crazy :

Sillinger
Johnson
Fantilli
Voronkov
Chinakhov
Marchenko
Jiricek

Lindstrom
Brindley
Mateychuk
Del Bel Belluz
Elick
Svozil

Like, there's a lot of stuff there to put together a deal and there are absolutely zero cap issues in getting it done.

Canucks were previously linked to Zacha and I could see them being interested in Trent Fredric too. There is another chip in Boston that nobody is going to want to think about....but if things continue to go south for them.......

yeah there are some interesting names there and the cap space is a huge asset when trying to get something done.

Frederic is a 3C who is a pending UFA. He isn't the first piece or even the second piece in a deal for a Petterson-level talent.

Zacha is a 3C who has nonsense stats from past two years because he was essentially playing 1C minutes next to Pastrnak.

I'd much rather move him to Columbus, for every reason listed above.

Plus, the Bruins are much more well known in Boston than the Jackets are in Columbus. It's not as bad as here or any other Canadian market, but it's not exactly a place that wouldn't have its fair share of pressure. They have competed for years and fans won't take kindly to a rebuild.
