terry jones was right. open season on mcdavid.
Skinner with a .760
McDavid sent back to Edmonton for evaluation.
Nobody listened to me when I said their Pk is gonna be mehJust after he made a full recovery from that vicious decapitation vs the Canucks in the playoffs. The Oilers really should load up on a few guys who can protect McDavid. What's Dave Semenko up to these days? I'm sure he'd be game for a nepo contract. Maybe they could knock the mothballs off of Zack Stortini?
But they really should trade or sign for like 2-3 of those types of guys so the Oilers won't be bullied at all. Full roster spot, IMO.
Surely their special teams will pull them out of this death spiral.

Oh.
Hyman to be out 3-4 weeks with a McDavid ankle sprain.
Its okay, McBabies have soft bones that are not yet fully formedBro injured himself diving
Died doing the thing he love mostBro injured himself diving
He been out the first 3 weeks already (10GP 0G 1A)! Does this mean he's going to have negative points?Hyman to be out 3-4 weeks with a McDavid ankle sprain.

In a way, I'll be disappointed if he is injured for any length of time. Edmonton fans will 'yeah, but....' whenever someone brings up their mediocre season. Built in excuse for Oilers fans.McDavid sent back to Edmonton for evaluation.

I agree. That team is absolutely not as good as they were last year. And when your team isn't as good, the fact you have a goalie who's far worse than a guy like Silovs, who's our 3rd string, is going to be exploited.I think a lot of people will look to last year and give Edmonton a pass on their start, but I wouldn't be as confident.
Not the same group. Less grit, less speed, bad PK and no defensive depth. These were all qualities we underrated about last year's Oilers that went on a pretty incredible run and almost won a Cup. As we've all pointed out just so many things have to go right to make it that far and there's just too many issues to get similar results from last year.

Skinner was so bad - we just didn't generate enough at the time. Now we have better offensive players and will likely go into the playoffs a better offensive team than the one we were last year. And as of now, they're likely to go into the playoffs a worse team than the one when we faced last year.
This post is all meaningless if Elias continues to play like his brother Emil / Monstars took his talent / Linden vey regen etc. etc.
Won't get anything in return that would make the canucks a better contender this season. At best, may need to wait to the end of the season and before July 1 trade protection kicks in. Teams with cap space will only have kids/prospects/picks to send you.We are hopeless if Pettersson is playing like this in the post season.
I am honestly so sick of his mopey no skating attitude. Not against trading him.
Is Four Nations Faceoff actually going to attract a lot of NHL players? It sounds like a gas station/restaurant on the Alaska highway and this is the first I've heard of it
Honestly, I'm hoping our guys can rest vs play this thing. Demko missing too many games, hopefully doesn't get asked. I figure Quinn is getting asked. As a C, Miller probably passed over, but would get asked to play wing. Boeser, think he doesn't get an invite. Then there is Petey.‘Connor McDavid is requesting his BFF be added to the team’
By nobody do you mean 'nobody on the Oilers boards' or 'everybody'?Nobody listened to me when I said their Pk is gonna be meh
I think there were people there were arguing it’s gonna be fine.By nobody do you mean 'nobody on the Oilers boards' or 'everybody'?
Cause I'm genuinely shocked if people were legitimately arguing that the Oilers PK was going to be good.
