Game ends on some serious bullshit no call which favoured Edmonton. Flyer was totally hooked on a clear chance to the net.

Yeah dubas f***ed up that defence hard over time - only legit add was muzzin for what they needed

Everyone else was expected to be one slot higher than they are - brodie tip toed but nope

They f***ed that up right from tavares. Need was defence defence defence and nope.
Again, this narrative is pretty false.

Their downfall was scoring in the playoffs. Dubas vastly improved their defensive results by adding several quality defensemen over his tenure (Muzzin, Brodie, McCabe, Giordano).

What he should have been doing was maximizing his offensive players. They needed more scoring in the playoffs. Not goal prevention.

They could spend the $7m they spent on their "great deals" on filling out their defence.
Good to see you recognize the rest of your argument was incoherent and contradictory, and this was the only point you could legitimately respond to.

darn I was hoping for an extra spicy showdown on Nov 9 with both Canucks and Oilers being winless

I see it as a kind of

The needed people on the back end that could move the puck - the way they tried to play contradicted the personnel they had on the backend and effective playoff scoring is always built on diversity

When you cant move the puck from you backend you kill your options and teams just focus more on the weapons up front - the talent the 4 up front have should also have produced more than they have on talent alone but they can never be clicking all together.. which shows other issues

They legit had more than enough coming up to work with in developing depth scoring but rushed it

Muzzin was the only add that really showed .. everyone else mentioned is boring and giordano was washed to play like he did 10 years ago for the whole time

End of the day its just my opinion but i watch (ed) them a lot.. and nothing was in sync.. ever..

@bossram

Malkin with 11 points in his first 5 games, and he looks amazing out there.

Could this team surprise and make the playoffs ?

He’s literally Dan Cloutier. Avs have wasted 2 playoffs because of this dork and possibly another cup.

Tristan Jarry is the Penguins third best goalie and is making $5.35 million. Great job Dubas.
It seems like there's a few of these kicking around the league now. Jarry was pretty solid for 3-4 years

It isn't just goaltending.
