Sens look exactly like you'd expect a travis team to look, they're gonna blow it and have a potentially rough offseason upcoming

That sounds good in theory but most of the high paying office jobs are still located at or near the downtown areas of major cities.

There was a time during Covid that people are able to expand outwards due to being allowed to WFH, but with the (illogical) strong push to get everybody in the office, and a large increase to population in the country, you get insane traffic during rush hours at these major cities. I think there are lots of appetites for employees to move away from downtowns, but until there is a change in employers' mindset (not happening), a significant portion of people are forced to live and/or commute to the city centers daily.
Employment opportunities along with infrastructure like roads, public transportation and services like Hospitals, schools, doctors, community centers, etc. are factors for people to moving 90 minutes or more out of the city center.

WFH was supposed to encourage this, but like you mentioned, some of these conglomerates want people back in the office. Which decreases the desire of people to move further out as they don't want to do an hour plus each way for their daily commute.

Aww won't something think of the poor shitbag who openly supports a political leader that wants to annex our country and is constantly threatening to impose tariffs

What's next, is Gretzky gonna get Messier or McSorley to put out statements too? Why is he incapable of speaking for himself and letting others take the heat instead?

It has nothing to do with political believe, it has everything to do with his home country being threatened (by annexation) and attacked (with tariffs), and all the while as a Canadian he is not distancing himself from the aggressor. And no they are not "just people like you growing up in Canada" because any people growing up in Canada would be offended and furious of the attack from our neighbor and ally. You would have to be pretty un-patriotic to see your home country under attack and still cozy up with the one leading the attack.

The fact that Orr and Gretzky "don't get it" is quite alarming to me. I'm not saying they have to go out there and blast the president, but constantly be within Trump's orbit right now and not overtly supporting your country is definitely not a good look.

I can go on and on but this isn't a political forum so I'll just leave it at that.

Let's keep the Political discourse limited, but I'll just say this -

"He would do anything to make Canadians Proud"?

Seems like there's some very easy things he could do in the current climate. He'd just have to speak up and defend his country.

It should also be worth noting that Bobby Orr took out a full page newspaper ad supporting Trump's re-election in 2020

^ Link that's hard to see in dark mode ^

The funny thing is that Gretzky could undo most of the damage he has done to his reputation in Canada by issuing a fluff PR statement where he just says that as a proud Canadian he doesn't support Trump's annexation comments or tariff proposals. He won't undo all the damage that he has created, but it would go far.

Like, people didn't love his affiliation with Trump pre-annexation/tariff comments, but it wasn't that big of a deal nor discussed much in Canada.

You wonder about "Canadians" like Gretzky and Orr, they must REALLY align with Trump if they watch what's going on right now and think "yea I don't need to stand up for my home country."

They have all the money, fame, privilege, etc that they can ever want, so it isn't like they rely on Trump for anything. I also can't see them being scared of him either, so what is going on? Is Wayne scared that Janet will be mad if he say anything negative about the States? Is he worried about his standing within his millionaire club would be in jeopardy if he is critical of the president? Lose access to some exclusive golf memberships maybe? His children's future within the states? Like I really can't think of any other reason a patriot would stand by and watch this and acted the way he did, I really can't.

At the end of the day it can be said that most geriatric millionaires and rich moguls could give two craps about our national sovereignty, especially as they potentially stand to gain off the turmoil.

Gretzky and Orr may be stupid, but they also know what they are doing by remaining silent.

Oilers on a big, losing streak, gotta love it

I wonder how Frank Seravalli is going to recover from this

On the tying goal that Drai scored he literally just held the players stick and lifted it up while skating by him.

No idea how they let that count.
