He's also only 27. He did ELC (burning an elc year in 16/17), then got bridged then max termed. He'd be UFA at 32, so he'd be expecting another say 5 year deal after this one. That's a lot of money that this infection might cost him if he can't recover from it.

Kuzmenko might have his flaws but man he is an offensive threat. Just put in a master class of skill on the Flyers PP

A while it was fun to cheer on McDavid for a few weeks, it’s nice to see the Oilers get absolutely destroyed in the first game back.

And it might take the playoffs again for me to dislike him again, because he was extremely likeable during the Canada run

Carolina is desperate to re-sign Rantanen before the TDL, but if they feel it won't happen, he could be on the move again.

That's the problem when you give up as much as the 'Canes gave up for Rantanen, without first ensuring he'd actually re-sign. If Rantanen is determined to test the UFA market on July 1st, then it's really going to be tough for the 'Canes to re-coup what they gave up to acquire him from the Av's.

Now seems likely that Sakic came to the same conclusion in Colorado, that Rantanen wasn't likely going to re-sign anywhere prior to July 1st. So they moved on from him--while his value was still high.

The rangers are absolutely f***ed. They 100% acquired the best player in that trade but have lost more than they've added, plus have added a boat anchor of a contract.

From the high of a 4NC win to the low of coming back to play for this iteration of the shitsburgh Penguins has got to be tough for Sid. Is he really going to do another two years of this?
The high of the 4N win can actually give him enough comfort to "suffer" the next two years with Pens.

Agree. He can make things happen. Good vision, good hands. Unfortunately he doesn’t engage much away from the puck but his skill can’t be questioned.
