Ya it's not great. Especially because they had to debride the area which indicates the sepsis is fairly severe.

He's also only 27. He did ELC (burning an elc year in 16/17), then got bridged then max termed. He'd be UFA at 32, so he'd be expecting another say 5 year deal after this one. That's a lot of money that this infection might cost him if he can't recover from it.
