Pretty much exactly what I thought, that team will feature basically 4 tweener 2nd/3rd lines and #4 defensemen. They won't be top heavy, but they'll sure compete and be a pain in the butt. That's good. For everyone, really.

Yep. Edmonton needs a #1 d-man, and it's a crapshoot getting one through the draft, let alone development time.

If you can get a surefire #1 and still be left with a plethora of assets, I feel like you nearly have to.

Trade for PK, sign Lucic. Done.

And I say that knowing full well Draisaitl is a freaking monster, and could be a bigger monster being #2 behind McDavid. Personally, I'd even probably do Hall before Draisaitl. But potentialy elite forwards are a luxury Edmonton has.

Rumor was lockeroom issues, players that don't like him and the lack of leadership displayed when Price went down and the team fell off a cliff.

I agree that world class defenman are hard to come by but the trade rumors have been out there all year and they come from somewhere.

I even heard Malkin for PK...but seems to be Edmonton is the frontrunner but asking price is still too high.

It's actually a horrible trade for both teams.

It shuts the Kings cup window and Toronto gives up 3 huge pieces of their future for a guy who will be in his 30's when they are ready to seriously contend.

that's a lot of pocket change for a 20 yr old...but in the long run, will save them money.

And considering what Yandle got...and how much more talented Eckblad is...


On the other hand, Horrid decision by Hexy...giving a goon on skates 3.5 per???? Brutal...As much as I was hoping he's be gone, Hexy loves him, his eyes lite up talking about him. Four more years of suffering thru the headhunter...

Wrong. Kopitar's salary last season was $7.7 mill. Doughty has not gone over $7.1 mill yet.
