To this day, people complain about the return on Kadri, when it was clear at the time, and reinforced now, that he was a player the org just didn’t want anymore, for a history of discipline and maturity issues. Now it’s probable that Colorado will dump him too. He just lacks the ability to prejudge the consequences of his actions.

Hopefully Faulk is ok, Kadri needs to sit for a while.
Adding to this, Avs fans have been complaining about his performance this season. This is the cherry on top.

The repeat offender status lasts 18 months. Last time he was on the list. I don’t think he is this time.

He should probably get 1-2 games.

I saw this on the Avs board. I didn't check but I'll bet it's right.

Seems that the 18 month repeat offender window only affects the $$ not the number of games.

What is a "Repeat Offender"?

A Player is considered a repeat offender for 18 months following his most recent incident that resulted in a suspension. His status as a repeat offender in this category is used to determine the amount of salary forfeited should he receive another suspension.
It is important to note that even if a Player is not defined as a repeat offender, his past history may come into consideration when determining future Supplemental Discipline.

How much money does a Player forfeit when suspended?

Non-repeat offenders lose salary based on the number of days in the season. For example, if there are 190 days in a season, a three game suspension would cost a non-repeat offender 3/190ths of his average salary.
Repeat offenders lose salary based on the number of games in a season (82). For example, a three game suspension would cost a repeat offender 3/82nds of his average salary.

I think consideration would be that Avs will win this series regardless and suspending him just for this series would not serve the justice. I predict it will be this and next series, at which point it gets dicey as to if Avs can advance without Kadri in lineup.

It’s all in the past now, but if Kadri gets any less than what he got the last time he was suspended in the playoffs when he was with the Leafs I’m going to be a combination of confused, frustrated, and pissed off. DoPS is a joke and I fully expect them to drop the ball yet again

Kadri does it wrong every time. The thing is not to blind side someone. Its to bodyslam someones to the head without a helmet almost crushing their skull into concrete ice and come out of it $5000 short.

That's my biggest problems with suspensions. Punishment for a 'hockey play' gone wrong is far more severe than plays with malicious intent away from the play. That's like having longer prison sentences for manslaughter than 1st or 2nd degree murder. It doesn't make any sense.

If it means an intense rivalry gets even uglier and fisticuffs ensue, I am all for CTE. There was a time when I was a boy that you had to keep your head up to avoid injury. Very entertaining and dramatic, like the WWE on ice.

On a side note, I calculated the number of fights this season and it came to 392, 12 more fights than the year before in 14 less games played roughly per team.
Somehow this comment doesn’t shock me. I bet there’s a direct relation between simpletons who watch that nonsense and those who enjoy “old skewl hackey”

i'm a huge fan of kadri's but that hit was dirty as f***. wish kadri would stop doing this in the playoffs.

its def going to be a lengthy suspension. esp since he's a repeat offender.
