If it means an intense rivalry gets even uglier and fisticuffs ensue, I am all for CTE. There was a time when I was a boy that you had to keep your head up to avoid injury. Very entertaining and dramatic, like the WWE on ice.You miss people getting CTE?
The problem is, you can get a concussion from a simple hit where your head doesn't get touched by anything. You can get concussion from driving in a jetski for crying out loud. So, while I agree that some hits should have been banned when they were (Kadri's is illegal), but at what point does the line stop? Do you really want to watch hockey with zero hitting? It seems to be trending that way because even if Kadri got all shoulder and didn't touch Faulk's head, there'd be people who want to ban that type of hit.You miss people getting CTE?
Well sure, you can't please everyone but I doubt there would be a lot of outrage. Kadri perform a clear blindside hit to the head. Theres no need for that in the game today. We are not living in a reality where Kadri hit Faulk's shoulder sadly. The problem is, you can get a concussion from a simple hit where your head doesn't get touched by anything. If Kadri isn't suspended for at least the rest of the first round, there's definitely bias against the Leafs in the DOPS.
Kadri's last suspension, second in the playoffs, was also in game 2. Also got 5 and a game misconduct, and he was suspended for the remainder of the first round. It's a direct comparable situation. This his was also more egregious and dangerous.
Given he's a repeat offender it should be more too, like another couple of games in the second round.
the reverse angle shows it as a clear head shot.Looked accidental / not malicious but he won't get the benefit of the doubt given his history.

I'm just interested to see the non-Leafs factor weigh into the suspension
My guess is 8 games total. Whether that's in the playoffs, or if the Av's get eliminated that carries over to the regular season.
The length will definitely be interesting.
He probably deserves 8 based on past behavior. I suspect it will be a bit less though (probably takes him out the rest of the Avs series so 2-4 games).
I'll always love Kadri as a player, but man does he do stupid things way too often
a drunk driver doesnt intend to kill their victims either ...recklessness does though (harsh analogy, but, gets the point across)Oh I am not arguing the point of contact - that definitely looks like a headshot - just the intent. My 6AM assessment at first glance was that it appeared non-malicious. Who really knows though.
This is like back in elementary school when one of your classmates got called to the principals office.
The scary thing is, that exact type of hit used to be commonplace, and made Scott Stevens the feared d-man he was in New Jersey. The NHL hasn't looked kindly on blindside hits recently ... Regardless of intent or point of contact.
Date/time TBD?
What the? Shouldn't they be prompt with this since game 3 is tomorrow?
