Equal to what you are trading. I would take 2 $6M players with heavy compete for Matthews. A Barzal type and a lesser piece is value.
AM is no Sundin and no Gilmour. The team will not win with him as the cornerstone. We'll see, or maybe not, Do you think he is sticking around? I think he will move on to an American team without a doubt.

Ya but neither Sundin nor Gilmour were talented hockey players, aside from being “gritty mcgrit gtits”. Whatever the hell that is.

All those names on the Conm Smythe trophy? Those aren’t Hall of Fammers at all. Look at the list. Gritty mcgrit gritts.

Please explain how cheering for the Habs is facing facts?

Just stupidity.
Let it go, it’s irrelevant who wins if it isn’t the Leafs. I could care less who ends up with the cup, but no denying that the Habs/Knights/Isles/Bolts work hard, and that in itself is refreshing.

then what’s the point of talent?!
Good question, I’d rather a balanced team, less skill more grit and determination, but that’s not in wonder boy’s play. His vision is a foursome of highly skilled, questionable committed players surrounded by misfits and rejects. I don’t expect success until he’s replaced.

Non talented players keep beating all these talented players/teams. Must have some kind of talent if they keep doing it.
No it's magic and luck only. Heart has never been a deciding factor and a team fully of Mitch Marner will always beat a team full of Patrice Bergerons

Thing is simple. If Dubas signed Perry instead of Thornton and Simmons it would have been a different story now. I'm 100% sure that he would found a way to score clutch goals when Matthews and Marner started to choke. Guess who scored crucial goals for Habs in game 5 and 6.

Some GMs build a team for playoffs and some for the regular season. This isn't a shot at Dubas btw because I do like him.
Yes, however under normal circumstances the Habs miss the playoffs this year and last, which is making this run quite shocking if you ask me. I’ll be honest, last night was the first game I’ve watched them play since the Leaf series, and I found it completely boring. For the sake of hockey, I hope Tampa wins. As a viewer, I don’t want to see a team devoid of elite talent suffocate their way to a cup win lol

For what it’s worth my team(habs) also signed Frolik and that didn’t do much.

I think the big issue was giving way too much respect to vets. Thornton must’ve gave puck away every game in our series but he was never benched.

I think you fans are right to be upset about your team’s current bad streak but the talent is there. Ovechkin only won when he got a coach who didn’t let him do whatever he wanted.

Any peewee level player can block shots off their shin pads all game. Take a few in the chest or be forced to duck out of the way and suddenly your a bit slower getting to the lanes. I'll never understand this fascination with trying to finesse a puck through 10 legs instead of just repeatedly blasting it when teams want to clog up the middle.

Considering the situation and how our division ended up being doing what he did it was the perfect time to do it. Empy buildings can make playoff hockey boring to watch. I haven't really watched any games that have been played in Canada except when the Leafs played because it's a snooze fest with no fans at all. Every other game has actually been pretty damn good to watch and some even shocked me. I thought the Isles would be boring to watch but some of their games have been the best to watch.
