Eriksson didn't end up scoring 60+ points like he did in Dallas. Horton left, replaced by Iginla, and then they couldn't keep Iginla. They trade Boychuk because they probably can't keep him long term, then the Hamilton situation comes out of nowhere, Chara gets older, and Seidenberg isn't a spring chicken. Their top 4 on defense, 4 of their top 5, whatever, either gone or now a question. They got no immediate help from trading Boychuk. No immediate help from trading Hamilton. 1 young defenseman today for Lucic. Without Chara and Seidenberg, they have no d-men that have played 300 game yet, and only 1 that has played over 200.

The cap and age come for everyone. Not every team is going to have a young Toews and Kane for one cap crunch, and then a Toews and Kane in their mid 20's for a second crunch.

And despite the fact the GM made those decisions, and Rask let in 14 goals so far, it's Julien who will lose his job in short order if they continue to go downhill.

Tonight the Bruins take on the Avs. On the third pairing is Tommy Cross, who is playing in his 1st NHL game and former Monarch Colin Miller, who is playing in his 3rd NHL game.

Kings new theme thus far for 2015-16

Apropos for the Kings...do they know that pre-season is over and the last 3
games were regular season games?

Coyotes lead 3-0 over the Ducks after the 1st, and they actually looked pretty damn dominant in that period. They might be a team that shouldn't be taken too lightly guys. They have some talented youth on that roster who can create high quality chances.

I feel better knowing that the 2016 Stanley Cup Champs are one point ahead of us.

Meanwhile in some alternate reality the Kings made the 2015 playoffs and played their way through 4 brutal (Blues, Blackhawks, Ducks, Bruins) rounds to another Cup.

...Oh god, I re-visualize history too much. :(

All joking aside, that's not really much to feel better about.

Oh my goodness break up the Yote's! Someone needs to go and make another can anyone beat the Coyote's Thread cuz they look like the team to beat! :sarcasm:

Arizona is making the DUCKS look slow, too. So it's not just exclusively the Kings.

It's little consolation, I know, but it's a weird start ot the season is all.
